Ok, let's start with Neith

First, learn how to build Neith.
Here's a good guide for Neith.
I recommend you look at build 1 (you can consider replacing the Titan's Bane with Qin's Sais) and build 7.
I highly recommend you read BranMuffin17's comments on that guide as well.

Second, play some Arena, since it's the easiest game mode, to get a feel of how the game works.
To get a better idea of Arena, read this guide.
And watch this video:

Third, get more familiar with items choices.
Read this item's guide.

I recommend you try out a Hunter named Artemis as well to get a feel off how an Auto-Attack focused hunter plays. (Compared to Neith, who has stronger ability damage potential). Also, my profile bio has some useful links like the Word of Thoth which explains certain mechanics in the game. (Just click on my user name to view profile)

Be better off playing either Hachiman or Cernunnos because both of them have escapes that Art doesn't.

In terms of beginner purposes it really doesen’t matter. But they will need to adjust to playing gods that don’t have great escapes anyway.

I don't know enough about hunters to be able to recommend "the best hunter" but a hunter I really enjoy that you might too is Ah Muzen Cab. If you're still pretty new to the game and still learning mechanics he may not be the best because he doesn't have any real escape and his full potential isn't reached without his Hive which poses a problem since they're easy to destroy and everyone targets them. Not as big of a deal once you learn to manage them a bit better but it's always something you have to watch.

I also like him because 3/4 of his abilities apply Bees! which is his DoT and helps finish off those enemies that just barely escape and you can't reach. Can't count how many times it's finished off enemies that I could no longer get for whatever reason.

Again, maybe not the best hunter to start out with but thought I'd mention him as I really like him and have had a lot of success with him.

At this point it really doesen't matter what hunter he plays as long as he can learn the mechanics of the role.
