I've tested Thanatos a few times when I could (practice and grabs during special matches)

And I really love him. My question is, Is it worth spending the 1100 to get a leg up on everyone else to ranking him up and playing him first?

The patchnotes say he was released set 18th i think.

How long do you think it would be until his price drops?

If it's like 3 weeks or so, then I'm probably just gonna buy him outright.

If it's maybe another week or two I might just wait.

Tomorrow is a new god patch. Thanatos' price should drop down to 5500 Favor once it goes live, so I'd wait.
Waiting on a good new MOBA, please.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
