Last post saw me try Mid for the first time, and we'll see yet another role played this time, though, well, you'll see.
4 games, 4 different gods, and playing with 4 clanmates...These were all with Stuke, Ferrum, Taco, and Ducks.
Group Queue Game 1: Geb Support
Not much to say about this one, game-wise. Their Sobek Support never showed, and they surrendered at 7 minutes.
The thing I WILL talk about is how I don't like Geb. I'm sure his passive is great late-game, but I just don't like his gameplay. He's so passive in comparison to Khepri, that I feel I'm doing nothing most of the time. To be fair, I'll give him another chance later, but he's not likely going to be a normal pick for me. Khepri's kit is way more fun and fits my playstyle much better.
Finished 0/0/1.
Group Queue Game 2: Bacchus Support
Okay, I totally know how to play him in Arena. I definitely need to consider matchups better in Conquest. Ducks and I found ourselves against Khepri and Hou Yi, who ended up fed as all hell.
As Bacchus, I felt the need to be aggressive, but my thinking shouldn't be that way...I should always consider the direct matchup, moreso between the enemy Support and me. In this case, Khepri has a pull as well as a potential stun, which means it's a horrible matchup for Bacchus. He can interrupt my Belch of the Gods, and if I use my Belly Flop to initiate, I'm easily pulled with no other escape. Hence, bide my time, level up, force a stalemate in lane, and destroy later once I've got a more complete build. That about right, Ducks?
Ended up 2/5/4, which I guess wasn't the worst possible outcome for my first time using him in Conquest, and again, I came out of it feeling like I could definitely do better.
(Oh, and what? Was that Stuke as... Bellona??? Going 8/6/2? AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Keep playing her, dude!)
Group Queue Game 3: Freya Jungle
First time in the Jungle!!! Woot!!! And we were against another full group (one looked like solo-queue because of clan name, but nope, he was part of their group). That said, the entire thing was a mismatch, though we were a bit concerned it would be the other way at the start. Note in the video below, the early laughing is because we realized we went 4 magical gods...oops!
I was definitely a bit nervous, but I think I did things pretty well at the start. From Speed to Mana to Solo for a clear. Ran into the enemy Arachne at the Fire Giant minions, and that was almost the end of me. Note to self...early game Arachne is a bad match for Freya with those damn spiders!
Almost went back because of health, but I've never gotten Bumba's Mask before (cuz never Jungler, right?) and it's actually really nice to have for those camps. Along with Freya's lifesteal passive, it helped keep me in it.
Anytime I play Freya, I'm always pretty aggressive, just because I'm so familiar with her. It could have been a lot worse for me against a tougher enemy, but this was a nice way to ease me into the role.
Died once chasing Arachne and getting jumped by 2 others, but other than that, my 1 v 1 and teamfighting felt solid.
Just really not sure where I was going the whole time, and didn't have nearly enough familiarity to start thinking about keeping track of enemies, calling missing, etc.
Ended 5/1/4 before they surrendered at 11 minutes, due to our entire team getting multiple kills.
Okay, this isn't the best video in many ways. Pardon the talking and whatnot, and it doesn't help too much when the entire match is lopsided. That said, would appreciate anyone willing to watch these 12-13 minutes and let me know what I clearly didn't do well and what else I need to work on.
Group Queue Game 4: Khepri Support
Ducks Neith. That is all.
Yup, back to familiar territory for me. Ducks and I had an extremely strong start, pressuring the enemy Medusa and Athena and forcing them under their tower almost the entire time I was with him. We forced them to 1/7/1 and 0/5/3 for their match, while Ducks showed why he should always, always play Neith...14/1/2.
Went 0/1/8 with a win by surrender at 18 minutes.
For the most part, I'm probably going to stop going into any depth with Khepri at this point. I don't feel "noob" with him anymore, so will only do quick summaries when playing him, while talking more about other gods in Support, as well as other roles when I do play them.
Is this a graduation of sorts?
....while Ducks showed why he should always, always play Neith...14/1/2.
This is gold.
