Runaway thoughts

Fuck  |  I'm  |  bored
Ok, I have no clue why, but I just have an urge to type. I have no clue why, but I just love typing and just expressing my thoughts, and I've just found ways to do this (such as the newsletter committee of my school, but that's not important).

Well, I'm going to start up some random prompt and just mindlessly talk about it.

And...

Nailcutters.

I'll be honest, nailcutters are ruining my life. I just find myself addicted to cutting my nails, perfecting them and always making them short. It's most satisfying when a nail is digging into your skin and then prying it open and cutting it. Of course, all addictions have got its bad repercussions, and nail-cutting is no different. I used to have lovely long nails, but now mine have developed into stubby nails just from me constantly cutting them too short.

Now, this addiction really isn't the worst addiction you can have.

My religion teacher recently used a quote that I absolutely love.

There are a lot of dead people walking among us.

This means that there are many people who have had their humanity taken away from them through drugs or gambling. They've taken away their freedom, their motivation and possibly their will to live, essentially just making them no better than dead people. That's a **** way to live your life, which is why I joined St Vincent de Paul society, but that's just me gloating on how much of a perfect human being I am (sarcastic, I am aware of my flaws).

But you see, the problem is, they've taken their own humanity from themselves, so should we feel bad for these people? I mean, if some shady bloke asks me for money, should I pay him? I mean, he's probably going to spend them on drugs anyway, so I may as well spend it on something more beneficial. Of course, that's a simpletons way of looking at it. Should I pay him? If I do pay him... Aren't I doing it out of pity? Isn't paying out of pity looking at them as lesser of a human being, making their situation even worse? I mean, in the end, not paying them would be better. And the thing is, it would not be the greedy thing to do.

Let me elaborate. By not giving money, you are probably making their lives better and maintaining their humanity. That's not the main point. What if you were to give money? Now that would be greedy. Why? You give money because it feels good. You get this feeling in your stomach that you did good, you're a good person. But when you get this feeling, you are in turn further taking away their humanity. By giving money, they will realise that they can get money by being pitied, and they will continue to live their lives in a lower social class, deemed by society.

Now, back to my religion teacher's quote. While the above was what he really meant, my initial thought is that he was talking about the people who lived before us. And of these prominent figures, Jesus.

Ok, this is more humorous than anything, but what if the concept of Christianity was built up on adultery? Let me elaborate. Joseph returned to his wife for the census. He was having a **** day, working as a carpenter, etcetera etcetera. His day is simply made worse when he comes back home to find that the Holy Spirit ****ed and impregnated his wife. Life, poor Jospeh. He gets a son which will leave a huge mark on society on years to come, and it's not even his biological son.

Well, getting late, I think I'll cut it off here.
