Danzaburo

the Mischievous Chief

Being the tanuki chieftain of the Sado Islands and the leader of the three famous tanuki of Japan, the name of Danzaburo is known by gods and mortals alike. Highly respected in his community, Danzaburo leads a town of tanukis, teaching them the arts of shapeshifting, bartering, and trickery.

Despite Danzaburo's role as a leader, he overlooks his duties from time to time to focus on his favorite hobbies--pranking people and making all sorts of mischief, his victims ranging from humans, yokais, and gods alike.

After hearing that many of his friends and favorite prank victims would be participating, Danzaburo arrives on the battleground of the gods, seeing it as an opportunity to practice his best pranks and tricks on gods from all over the world. Even if he wasn't invited, he would help his friends from the Shintoist Pantheon anytime they needed.

Passive Ability

MASTER OF DISGUISE
When Danzaburo stands still for two seconds, he mimics one of his J¡zo wards.
He becomes undetectable by NPCs and receives a 50% crowd control reduction.
The transformation is over when he moves or uses any ability.

Primary Abilities

Mighty Leaf
Danzaburo turns one of his leaves into a powerful weapon, swings it around him, damaging enemies lightly, then throws it to a target. The projectile will stop after colliding with an enemy, damaging and slowing them
if danzaburo reaches the enemy hit by the projectile in less than 4 seconds he will swing his mace again, damaging every enemy in the area

Improvised Parachute
Danzaburo sprints forward, gaining a 10% speed buff and becoming unable to stop running for 1.5 seconds. Once the sprinting time is over, he leaps forward and glides slowly, becoming immune to damage and undetectable, but also unable to use any ability for 2 seconds.

j¡zo wards
Danzaburo places one of his j¡zo wards. These wards work like regular wards being able to spot the enemies that cross their range of vision. They can withstand two enemy basic attacks. When destroyed, the j¡zos slow the enemies in their range of vision down for 0.5 seconds and reduce their defense slightly for 2 seconds. Danzaburo can place up to 3 j¡zo wards at a time. If danzaburo tries to place another ward when he already has 3 active wards, the new ward will take the place of the oldest ward, making it disappear

Ultimate Abilities

Danzaburo channels immense amounts of energy. If there are enemies near him, they're slightly damaged by ticks.
While channeling, Danzaburo is able to see the whole map and choose one of his wards to teleport to. The wards will considerably increase their range of vision while Danzaburo channels his ultimate ability.
If the ward has spotted an enemy, teleporting will only take 0.5 seconds. If the ward didn't spot an enemy, it will take 5 seconds.
He will arrive at his chosen J¡zo's location, dealing damage to the area and buffing his basic attacks. Danzaburo also gains true damage and crowd control immunity for 4 seconds.

My thoughts

Danzaburo's teaser was released yesterday. We're very close to seeing him in the game, and he has been one of the “gods” I've been looking forward to the most. I've had his design and ability ideas saved for a while and I wanted to start posting some concepts to this site. This would be my first concept. Even if Danzaburo is already making it to the game, I had fun thinking of his abilities and designing him. Any criticism is greatly appreciated, and I'll be seeing you soon
