Everything in the universe, even the gods themselves, are subject to impermanence and death. Every disease and great plague the universe has seen was lovingly brewed by Lord Nurgle. Of the four Gods of Chaos, Nurgle is most deeply involved with the lives of mortals. Mortals fear nothing more than death and the uncertainty of life thereafter. While Nurgle is the god of decay and death, he is also the lord of life and rebirth. With decay brings new life, the same way the rotting mulch of fallen plant matter eventually will fertilize and foster a great oak. Decay is only part of the circle of life, after all. While many of Nurgle's followers are happy to simply spread his plague and contagion, there are many more who flock to Grandfather Nurgle's open arms in hopes of escaping their own mortality. In a world where life is so fragile, Nurgles poxes and corruptions provide resilience and in that the mortals find comfort. In exchange for these blessings, the bodies of mortals are covered in boils and rot to better spread his gifts.
Mortals spend their lives fleeing and hiding from their own demise. Nurgle, with his body bloated and festering, is the embodiment of mortality. Anyone who accepts the blessings of Nurgle no longer fears death, they have become a part of the Plague Lord's cycle of life. For this reason his followers are so disturbingly happy. They laugh and make joyous praise when they hear the screams and moans of the victims of the plague they have spread, taking the agony as thanks for freeing them from their mortality.
While Nurgle is relatively new to the battleground of the gods, he has already gained a massive following. The Lord of Plague has come to spread his infections. Not even the Gods are safe from his touch. Nurgle wields a mighty plague sword in his right hand, and a flail of corruption in his left.
In game, Nurgle would be large and slow with low damage output but annoyingly high CC. His kit has several slows to punish anyone who gets too close and allow for Nurgle to catch up and land a few autos. Speaking of autos, they would be slow and he would alternate between his sword and his flail, with the flail dealing more damage than the sword. A defensive play style would be encouraged, where Nurgle would hobble around waiting for opportunities to gank or set up his carry. However a more aggressive play style could allow for devastating effect. If he could get stuck in and get his slows out, it would make his unfortunate target easy pickings. Also any ideas of caution are completely thrown out the window when Nurgle's Ultimate is activated.
Nurgle belongs to Games Workshop and the Warhammer 40k universe. I merely made a smite adaptation.
Suffer and Despair.
I really feel like playing a Warhammer total war chaos warrior (Nurgle aligned SFO playthrough). sadly I do not enjoy the current hoard mechanics :(
Non-ult abilities all having a root effect while he casts seems extremely limiting and troublesome. With no mobility outside an MS boost in his ult, it's going to be very easy to lock him down, and depending on the situation, not even his passive damage mitigation will help him. As an alternative option, I'd suggest only the 1 roots him but has a shorter CD than 15 seconds, while the other two don't root him at all. If you want, in his ult, you can maybe consider that all his abilities root him when used, but they have enhanced effects or something.
