Odin (Hunter Rework)

The Allfather

Mightiest of the Aesir, warrior and king, the All-Father is a doomed God.It seems strange to imagine a God concerned with his fate, but Odin regularly consults the volva, the seers in the North. They speak of a final war, Ragnarok, when the mightiest Gods are slain and the world is consumed by the sea. For this day, Odin constantly prepares. The All-Father can trace his lineage to Bor, he slew Ymir with the aid of his two brothers, Vili and Ve, and with his remains forged the world. Atop Asgard, where Odin presides, he is known as the bringer of war, a sage of wisdom, and the keeper of souls slain in battle. As a warrior, Odin rides his eight legged steed, Sleipnir, and wields the mighty spear Gungnir. Accompanying him are two wolves and his two trusted ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), who fly around Midgard and return to Odin with all they see and hear.As a sage, Odin travels disguised as a simple wanderer, seeking wisdom. His thirst for knowledge has come at great personal cost, having been hanged from the branches of Yggdrasil, the world tree, for nine days and nights and sacrificed one of his eyes to the Well of Wisdom. As keeper of souls, Odin welcomes slain warriors to his mighty hall of Valhalla on the agreement they will aid him at Ragnarok. Favored female warriors become his elite Valkyrie that usher those worthy of entry to Valhalla. It is in preparation for the final days of Ragnarok he does all this. For the seers claim his death will come at the fangs of the great wolf Fenrir, and like anyone, Odin seeks to change his fate. Yet, never once have the volva been mistaken.

(NOTE: I changed this slightly because the original says he is descended from Ymir, which he isn't. He is descended from Buri, the first man who was licked from the ice by the cow Andhumla).

Passive Ability

Gungnir the Never-Missing
Whenever Odin fires a basic attack that would come within X units of an enemy but misses Gungnir instead swerves to hit that enemy. This ability always prioritizes enemy gods over enemy minions. If the attack would miss an enemy but go on to hit another Gungnir does not swerve.

Why the Rework?

Its not that I have any problem with the current Odin gameplay wise. It's more that I have a problem on his accuracy to his myths. In the myths Odin is seen as a master manipulator and a cunning and ruthless commander, something that is not even close to portrayed in his current kit. Furthermore, Odin's principal weapon, Gungnir is not portrayed overly well in this game either. Gungnir's magical abilities is the fact that it never misses, something that affects its use at a range, not at melee.

What to do With the Current Odin?

Obviously, straight out removing the current Odin from the game and replacing him with something else would be illogical and unfair to Odin players. My suggestion would be to do something like what was done with Ao Kuang (At least I think this is what happened, this was before my time). The current Odin would be replaced with a different god with all of the same abilities (except probably the passive which is useless anyway). Here's an example with Utgard-Loki (a Jotunn from Norse mythology who has nothing to do with Loki Loki).

Utgard-Loki (The Mountain King)
Norse, Warrior, Melee, Physical

1st Ability:
Lunge (This Name Can be Kept the Same for Obvious Reasons)

2nd Ability:
Illusion Shield (Utgard-Loki fools Thor and Loki Loki in his palace/castle/home with a ton of illusions and stuff)

3rd Ability:
Mighty Spear

4th Ability (Ultimate):
Ring of Spears (Again this doesn't need changing)

Passive:
The Mountain Trickster (Completely New Ability, Odin's Current Passive is Useless Anyway):
Utgard-Loki shields himself with illusions, reducing all damage he takes by X%. These illusions also give Utgard-Loki additional combat prowess, reducing the cooldown of his most recently used ability (that is still on cooldown) by 3s whenever he kills an enemy god.
