Perseus's grandfather was told of a prophecy that said his grandson would kill him one day. Fearing the daylight come near he sealed away his only daughter in a tower hoping she wouldn't get pregnant. However Zeus saw this and decided to visit the princess. He did so by turning into golden rain and falling through the bars that made the ceiling. Then the princess got pregnant from Zeus and when the king heard of this he was furious so he put his daughter and grandson in a box and threw them out to sea hoping to be er see them again. Poseidon made sure the box didn't break and led them to a different kingdom. There they were found by a fisherman who was the kings poor brother. After a few years the grandson(Perseus) was invited to a party by the king. The king was fat and wanted Perseus's mom to be his wife but knew that Perseus would never allow it. So he called out Perseus and challengef him to kill Medusa and bring her head to him fully knowing it was a near impossible task. Perseus accepted and received help from the gods I his quest. He gained a helmet that made him invisible from hades, the flying shoes of Hermes, and the golden sword harpe from Hermes as well. He also gained a golden shield from Athena and told him how to find where Medusa was and her sisters. Perseus went to a cave at the edge of the world and found three witches. They shared an eye and a tooth between them all. Perseus stole the eye and asked them where Medusa was. They told him in exchange for the eye and when Perseus got to Medusa's home he found it littered with stone statues of previous warriors tasked with killing her. Perseus fought with Medusa and used the reflection of the shield to see where Medusa was and chopped off her head. Perseus flew back to the king and his mother after a few other adventures that won't be explained and upon showing the head to the king and his subjects they all turned to stone.
