Santa Claus

Guardian of the north pole

The north pole: one of the most inhospitable places on earth. Its dark, icy planes reject human life. Yet a light pierces the snowy air: A jolly workshop of dreams!

Originally a traveler named Nicholas who gave presents to the lower class, Santa Claus proved himself to be of pure heart and strong of will. He received magical powers and immortality with the promise he would continue his work. He now travels the world, giving hope to those in the depths of winter.

Many view Claus as a superfluous man, giving people an excuse for revelry. However, Claus believes his work is much greater than that. He serves a greater purpose: the same reason he settled in the north pole. His creed is simple: "Humanity can overcome the darkness."

Passive Ability

World Traveler
Santa Claus gains movement speed for every pantheon present in the match. He also has a charge of four presents, which decrease his speed per present owned. Each present owned also increases his protections. Presents recharge over time, recharging quicker if Claus is traveling the map. Getting an assist recharges a present instantly. Getting a kill recharges two. Assist and Kill presents can over cap the four present limit, but have exponential speed decreases.

Primary Abilities

1
Present
Claus leaps forward and slams down his bag of presents. It costs one present to use this skill. If you hit a foe, it does damage and extends the duration of any soft CC currently on them. If you hit an ally, they are shielded and are cured of any soft CC currently on them. Leveling this skill increases the range of the leap.
2
Claustrophobia
Santa Summons a blizzard around himself, slowing foes and granting himself healing per second. Leveling this skill increases the duration of the skill. This skill costs one present to use.
3
Santa's Strongarm
Santa magically boosts his physique, gaining increased auto attack speed and protection shredding on autos. Leveling this skill increases the shred.

Ultimate Abilities

4
Slay Bells
Santa Claus summon his sleigh. Nearby allies can mount the slay as it takes off. Allies can drop down to the map at their own discretion before the skill ends. Allies gain Santa's movement speed when they land. When Santa lands, he creates a large blizzard and has increased protections per ally that was in the sleigh.

Playing as Claus

I wanted to make a guardian with a focus on auto attacks and sticking close to enemies. This results in a warrior-like guardian that is good at sticking to foes. Due to being a guardian, he cant do much on his own. He has good movement to get to fights and decent peel to protect his team. His sustain lets him keep the team in lane for longer than usual. His auto steroid and blizzard let the team focus a weakened foe. The ultimate is the perfect rotation tool, adapting Apollo's ultimate into a support ability.

In order to play Claus effectively, you must manage how many present you have and focus on rotation in order to assist allies. This is encouraged by the interplay of speed boosts and drops in his passive.

Personality

Santa Claus may be a jolly fellow, but you don't want to get on his bad side. He acts somewhat aloof of his might, but isn't afraid to throw hands when confronted: the veritable wolf in sheep's clothing.

voice lines:

To other winter gods after kill: "What's the reason for YOUR season?"
To Bacchus after kill: "Meet me later... I've got some eggnog..."
To Arachne after kill: "Tell your kind the chimneys are mine!"
To Dark gods after kill: "Human spirit is stronger than your corruption."

On item purchase: "A present for me?"
On death: "back to the workshop..."
on death: "don't tell the missus..."

Playing against Claus

Because old Nick is a close ranged roaming character, its important to know where he is at any time. If he jumps on you, he can easily keep you in range of his slow and autos. Cripples and crowd control are a big issue for Claus, as he relies on his jump to engage, escape, and heal. Anti heal is a must to reduce the sustain that Claus brings to the table.

Honestly this is pretty rad. Buff Santa FTW (that pic with 6-pack Santa is hilarious).

Like the skill names and concepts, though really would have loved to see your idea of the stats for those abilities (e.g. damage, duration, etc.). Feel that that takes away from the overall presentation.

Pretty darn innovative overall though, and general interaction of the passive with other abilities is neat. The basic attack part does seem a bit separated though. And being a Guardian, seems very weak on CC (only a slow and possible extension of soft CC on enemies). Not that I'm a fan of lots of CC, but seems like there should perhaps be a bit more.
