When the world was young, it was said that there were two people, Ranginui and Papatuanuku. The Sky Father and the Mother Earth.
The two in an near-eternal embrace, in the center, a void of darkness where no light dwelled within; laid their children.
Many children wished to see the light from their parents, but Tawhirimatea was perfectly content in the small void.
But whispers of plans from the others grew disconcerting, threats of murder loosened from the tongues or that of seperating the bond that contained them.
Tawhirimatea grew furious at this, but it wasn't until Tanē, God of Forests and Trees and his own dear sibling; forced his parents to split apart, his body on the ground as he pushed up at the sky with his legs that he grew enraged.
Swearing vengenance against his brother from spliting the union between the sky and land, as well as concealing their own mother beneath the vast stretch of land and dense woodlands, did he committ to his anger.
Tawhirimatea birthed many children, swearing to use them to sweep the lands and burn his brother's creation in a War of Gods to reunite the Sky and the Earth again.
Now, in the Battlefield of Gods, he has a chance to make right the wrongs his brothers committed. Accompanied by his children, and the many gods that dot the planet his brother made. He fights to make things right.
