I saw someone avoid Ares' ultimate with aegis' armlet today

And I don't mean Greater Aegis. I mean the first tier aegis with no CC immunity. Why does this work? Does it work with Aegis Pendant as well?

I think if you use (tier 1) right before Ares even uses , it should work. Honestly, I highly doubt anyone has the prediction skills 1 second before Ares used it. He could've but it's doubtful... It's more likely that this god used an ability (most likely an ultimate) to make him/her CC immune. Or magi's blessing deprived Ares of the pull.

What god was he/she? Would help

It's not that hard to time a tier 1 to avoid an ult. Just use it right before he pulls you in and you're safe.

Timing it right before Ares pulls you isn't hard at all, done all the time with purification beads and ultimates. But timing the before Ares even right clicks the circle for his ult is pretty hard. Especially if it's one second. When the Ares sees you use the aegis, they won't

Wel it's should be really possible. Some people used to be able to escape ares ult with Agni dash when he had the CC immune. I also used Bastet leap (before she got CC immune or getting it removed completely) to be able to jump back after being pulled

Well...yeah. I'm sure early SMITE players can agree with me when it used to be 2nd place next to beads, especially to avoid an Intestinal RIP (when Ares kills you with his ultimate, you having very little hp). Its all about timing the Aegis just before the detonation, and it's relatively easy because there's this build up sound to it.

See but once Ares has you with his chains, you can't use tier 1 aegis. So you'd have to plan it before, since there is some CC that will not let you use aegis when you're "connected" by the chains but not pulled yet, you can hear the buildup pretty easily but you'd need the type of aegis which would allow you to use it under crowd control effects

That wasn't what happened though. We were in an assault match, and someone said to buy beads for Ares' or die. Then this Ra said "you wanna bet?" The guy told him it was lame to use his ultimate for CC immunity, and he said that's not what he was doing. Then I went and watched him, and I saw him use it right before Ares' pulled you in, after he had been hit with the ultimate, and he didn't get pulled in. I would like to test it with someone if possible. I have Ares', so I just need someone to buy Aegis armlet and play a match with me.
