Mercury - God of Arena

Seriously, played 9 games with him in Arena. Ended with a 7-2 record. One of the losses was pretty much down to the wire. The other loss was cause my team had two guys that pretty much fed the other team.

Even on the bad losses, I was getting at least 9 kills and on average managed double digits.

Most games I rarely die unless they focus heavily on killing me. Merc is by far my new arena god of choice.

Well, aside from the obvious sample size issues here, Merc definitely has some strong advantages in arena. He's a more extreme Neith in that you're never safe retreating from a team fight, even if it started close to mid. Merc can just catch you with an ult, beat you down relatively safely and get out before your team can even close. You can use his ult to initiate or to clinch team fights if the other team lines up the right way as well.

His 1 is great for safely poking, and his 3 is instant death if anyone gets even a little out of position. That's a lot of utility for a guy who you would think would be relying on basics.

He also has an advantage in people not really knowing how to counter him yet. I know I've had a few times where I'm someone like Freya and I know I can take him one on one, but he gets up in my face before I even notice that we're engaged, and I'm dead by the time I activate my abilities. He's tough to zone out. He's starting to feel a little like the physical version of Chronos, which is what they were going for with the 'fastest alive' stuff I guess.

I just want to point out, in reference to the title, that in arena mode technically all of the gods are gods of Arena. Just saying haha.

Have you ever considered that you are just really good with merc? That could be it. Maybe he just fits you well.
