On many sites like reddit and facebook smitefire is regarded as trash, and that places like smiteguru are better. Do you think that one day they'll see it as a decent site?

Hard to say. Tough to break out of the stigma that the site has had for a couple of years now. We don't have enough commitment to get a lot of the members to comment and vote.

Wayne has some nice updates and other things coming soon, but not sure when that's going to happen. Promise it's going to be a nice facelift for the site, but aesthetics aren't the most important, of course.

Basically, to break out from the negative reputation, we need much higher activity and better promotion (and maintenance) of good guides, while offering constructive feedback for guides/people that need more work or knowledge. We have a great group of regulars, but perhaps a bit less of the fluff comments (that do nothing) would also help.

How many are in the group of regulars? My estimate is around only 20 out of the sixty-thousand accounts registered on the site. Getting active members would be the hardest part imo

Well, the people that I'd consider "regulars" sort of shifts. Right now, I'd consider you, Bernardozomer, Technotoad64, Draisaitl, boogiebass, overld1, Gulfwulf, and xZeroStrike as the most reliable. Lately DV-8 and newbiemj have dropped off.

People that have been contributing recently include Rvynn (only on his own guide's comments), curtainrod (only on Rvynn's guide), SkyPirateShini, BigBullyMarine, and some others.

ThePerfectPrism says he's coming back too, but I'll believe it when I see it (no offense Pris). I expect Stuke to update his guides sometime in S5. Others that pop in here and there include people like Devampi, Duotem, xXDannTheMannXx (RedditDann), and BestMinionEver (Marki). OhHolyDuck mostly contributes videos...same with BenskyGaming.

Problem is, people get bored of Smite, real life priorities shift, they find new games to play (there are SOOOO many games), they get lazy updating their guides, etc. We also just don't have enough current guides for all the gods.

I'll keep that in mind next time I'm commenting on guides. However, fluff comments should be acceptable on other posts (not guide related)?

The main page's "recent discussion" section is pretty convenient to see what's been talked about in the last day or two. What I'm talking about, more than most things, are strings of "yes, no, no, no, yes" etc. Those are pretty funny but each stupid post takes up slots.

Nonsense/silly comments are fine, I'm not trying to discourage people from posting what they want, but I'm just saying that those are things that don't really help anything either.

Very true, that's what cause a massive decline in my activity on this site and smite.

Wow. Wasn't expecting to be counted as someone who contributes. I just comment on stuff. I guess I kinda gotta work more on my guide now. I was hesitating on posting it cause I kinda lost confidence in my Iza skills, but I'm over it now.
