The Hawaiian God Of War, Ku

(Also known as the god of prosperity.)

In Hawaiian mythology, Ku is one of the four great gods along with Lono, Kanaloa, and Kane.
Ku wields a fiery mace that burns with the souls of the gods, demons and mortals he has personally slain in combat. Ku, like his brothers Kane and Lono, was a child of the sky god Rangi and the Earth goddess Papa. Ku�¢ï¿½ï¿½s prowess in battle was responsible for saving all the deities in the Hawaiian pantheon after the separation of Papa and Rangi caused a massive assault by the storm god Apuhau. Next, when another of his brothers, the sea god Kanaloa (also called Tangaroa in other Polynesian island groups) launched a war against his fellow deities it was again Ku who prevailed against him.

I have seen quite a few blog posts here on Smitefire suggesting a new pantheon, specifically the Hawaiian pantheon.

Hawaii has many gods, all of which are unique to each other and unique to gods of the same power in different religions.

Ku really caught my attention because he is the Hawaiian god of war, but yet he isn't a huge jerk about it, unlike Ares from the Greek pantheon. Ku has practically saved the world twice by himself and came out unscathed.
But to avoid a two gods with the same title, Ku's official title could be, "The God of Prosperity." Or even, "The God of Victory."

I even took the time to think of possible abilities but did not take the time to think of their cooldowns and damage.

Passive: Tribal Fury

After each consecutive hit on minions or enemy gods, Ku will swing faster and deal higher damage, capping at five attacks. This ability stays present up to ten seconds after the swinging ceases. (It can even have a little cooldown semi-circle around Ku in-game, like Chaac when his ax has been thrown.)

First ability: Broken Ground.

Ku lifts his leg and brings it down... hard... smashing the ground in a straight path that crumbles in front of him. The broken ground smolders with fire and damages the enemy (with no after-burn effect).
When Ku activates Broken Ground when his second ability (Ancient Rage) is currently active, the ground will smash in a 25-foot radius around Ku, plus the straight line attack. This adds some crowd control effect to Ku if a large brawl breaks out.

Second ability: Ancient Rage.

Ku roars in anger, buffing himself and his surrounding allies in a 30-foot radius around him. The buff grants Ku a 10 second recharge of health and increases his movement speed for 10 seconds as well. His allies are granted the increased speed but not the health recharge.
Extra effects for his other three abilities are opened up if they are used while Ancient Rage is activated.

Third ability: War God Rush

Ku quickly dashes forward, knocking any enemy gods and minions back, dealing damage and stunning them. If Ku has Ancient Rage activated when he uses War God Rush, he will grab the closest enemy god by the neck and slam them quickly into the ground. The impact creates a small shockwave and again, dealing a small dose of damage to enemy gods for extra crowd control.
Ku can use this ability to escape AoE attacks such as Hades' Pillar of Agony, Poseidon's Whirlpool, and Anhur's Shifting Sands.

Ultimate: The One Who Stands

When activated, Ku is granted his final stack of Tribal Fury. (Five hits in a row.) It lasts for the duration of The One Who Stands. Ku gains a damaging whirlwind of anger that surround him and damages enemies he comes into contact with. Enemies are slowed if they get touched by the whirlwind. Ku can continue to move while The One Who Stands is activated and with the additional Tribal Fury given to him, Ku can deal serious damage to an enemy god.
The whirlwind will eventually diminish but if The One Who Stands is used when Tribal Fury is activated, the whirlwind will diminish with a final burst of air, that damages nearby enemy gods and minions a short distance away.

The concept art I had for Ku was for him to be wearing wooden-like armor that brings out the warrior feel while still appearing similar to a tiki. His armor would be covered in designs carved in and painted on like traditional Hawaiian tattoos. Attached to his armor are a few grass details that can be seen in artwork of traditional Hawaiian dancers or warriors.
Ku also has a single arm cape over his left arm, also seen on Hawaiian warriors. In his left arm he also holds the fiery mace made of rock and wood.
A few extra details are his necklace made of wooden spheres and a charm in the middle, and most importantly is his helmet. It is made to look just like his tiki mask that I have seen many pictures of. With the open mouth constantly billowing out a reddish smoke and his empty eyes filled with glowing pupils it makes it feel as if this mask his his real face.

Overall I was going for almost a Golem-like appearance, one that would suggest he were a living suit of armor.

I am starting an edit of Ku's drawing in Photoshop. He will be detailed and probably colored.

Other than that I have just a few ideas for his voices, commands, victory/defeat animations.

First off, his voice should sound like that of none other than Rick D. W***erman. In case you don't know who that is, he voices Imperius in Diablo 3. (The big gold archangel with the red wings.) Play Video "SILENCE!"

Victory

Ku is seen with his mace which is constantly burning. He is performing a traditional Hawaiian fire dance with his mace as the flaming baton. He proves to be very skilled in the dance, picking up pace and twirling it and even moving it around his back. Finally he holds it up proudly and breathes fire from the mace and his mouth as the finale. He takes a bow and returns to a standing position.'
Repeat.

Defeat

Ku is seen tapping his extinguished mace in his hand, attempting to get it to burn again with sparks jumping out with each hit. Similar to a person smacking a flashlight to get it to work again. Eventually it bursts into flames, startling Ku who regains his composure immediately and attempts to twirl the burning mace like in the victory animation. He throws it into the air and misses it as it comes down, hitting his head and catching Ku on fire. The mace lays on the ground beside Ku who immediately stumbles and then falls on his back, rolling around to get the fire out. He lays for a moment more before his picks up his extinguished mace and stands again.
Repeat.

that drawing is pretty good! However any scaling with the moves I mean the descriptions are fine I just don't know how much damage they do. Otherwise!! really cool idea dude keep it up :D

Wow, this is pretty awesome! What is he a warrior, because it seems like a good kit for one. Also I love the drawing, very creative. How about the Prophet of Prosperity as his title. Also I don't quite understand his passive and ult, care to explain more?

His passive makes him swing stronger and faster each time he hits a god or minion. He can hit up to five times in a row before his passive maxes. At 5, he is at his strongest and fastest but it will begin to cool down. In 10 seconds his passive will drop back down to 0. I was saying he could have a little cool-down bar under him that decreases during the 10 seconds.

His ult surrounds him with a cyclone. Any enemy caught in the cyclone is slowed. During his ult, Ku has his passive maxed out to 5 for the duration of the ult.

Ah, that's better understanding.
