Sentinel's gift meshes will with Fafnir's passive getting him an extra 11 gold per minion assist. this nets him 153 gold per minion wave which is more then a standard hero kill.
Don't worry about using up the remaining gold it will be used by Fafnir's passive to grant ~ 9 of each protection however baron's brew or wards are always a nice thing to have.
hebes should be the first thing to build as it will be the cornerstone of your defense for the first half or 3/4th of the match and it takes a bit to build up.
Chronos will let you turn into a dragon every 60 seconds with Pridwen shaving it down to 45 seconds letting you ult in almost every hard engagement.
Piece and Magus give a good bit of life steal ~ 36% and gives your allies to bit of extra kick when taking advantage of your stuns.
I would finish Sentinel last unless you find your self being ripped apart and need more protection.
Coerce will be one of your main points of damage and sustain. in Dwarf form use it to buff ally hunters and mages. In dragon form it greatly increase the damage of you breath weapon. This also meshes will with life steal.
Once Coerce is completely upgraded put points into cursed strength for the increased stun length and then finally into underhanded tactics.

Thebes is a great defensive item a good replacement for it is hide of the urchin.
Pythagorem's Piece and Spear of Magus will help allies capitalize on your stuns if you want more life steal and power you can replace them with Bancroft's talon and Typhon's talon for a nice 45%-72% effective life steal depending on health.
his is by no means a bulwark tank build this build is meant to be a balance between survivability and damage.
While in Dwarf form focus on keeping your Coerce up on allies during skirmishes while keeping yourself between them and the enemy gods. Like any good tank your job is to interrupt enemy combo and dives.
While in dragon form the damage portion of Fafnir shines as you are able to buff both yourself and allies. Dragon form is great for locking down single targets and doing a surprising amount of damage. Be careful about turning in middle of teams with hard crowd-control. Once you shift into dragon form your goals will shift to harassing while keeping yourself and nearby allies buffed.
