Welcome to my guide of Apollo version 2. In the old guide, my guide have some mistake that doesn't really bring apollo's power to the max. In this new version of guide, it will cover much more things than about Apollo
Apollo act as ranged AD carry in SMITE and one of the toppick carry in competitive play. His presence in teamfight is pretty good cause he could mesmerize enemies and positioning his teammates. Becoming a good Apollo need a lot of practices as well as good communication with teammate. Once you are able to handle him, you will dominate the fight.
|
Pros:+ Good Pusher + High damage + Can position well + Pretty nice CC + Mobile, enabling to chase and run + Crazy steroid passive enabling to push early and fast kill late game |
|
Cons:- Squishy - Rely on Auto Attack skill shot - Ulti has a long time cast |
Apollo is one of the ADC that could push very well with his

As expected from ADC, he is super squishy. Staying behind tanks will give you some safe moment. Be careful of ganks and save your ult if enemy have something like ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Why choosing Apollo? Here's why
Anhur : All in all, anhur is OP, not much pro on
Apollo. But,
Apollo can make your team position themself with his serenade which
Anhur can't (unless his spear which hard to hit walls). Other than that,
Across The Sky give him worldwide presence which
Anhur doesn't give
Artemis : There are much more
Apollo offer than
Artemis. His
Serenade is more easy than artemis's trap. Other than that,
Apollo is better pusher than artemis cause she has no line damage.
Apollo also have run and have worldwide presence. His older sister is not as good as him
Cupid :
Apollo offer a lot than cupid.
Cupid can't push well which is bad.
Cupid's steroid also need to sacrifice his ONLY escape.
Apollo can also mesmerize that is not an ulti and worldwide presence.
Neith :
Apollo has better chase than
Neith.
Apollo also has steroid which neith doesn't have at all. His worldwide presence is better also since he still can attack enemies after the skills.
Xbalanque :
Apollo give more CC than
Xbalanque. He could also clear lanes better which xbal can also but need to sacrifice his escape. His worldwide presence is better for certain kill.
Apollo's kit is an ADC kit with focusing mostly on clearing, escape, steroid and only a little soft CC.
Audacity
Apollo's passive is a crazy steroid of attack speed. For early game, use it to farm minions. For late game, stack it first before entering teamfight to make you more useful
So Beautiful
This is your bread and butter. Use it to farm minions if you are being outpushed. If enemies not push so good, don't use it since it waste mana. Max it first for damaging potential
Serenade
This is your best CC, maximize it second to give you time to positioning. Other than that, you could use it to run away as it makes the enemy need to wait before chasing you
The Moves
This is your escaping skill. If you are ganked, quickly use Serenade then use this to dash and to run away. Unless you are sure enemy will be killed, use this as well to initiate.
Across The Sky
This skill give you a worldwide availability. In early game, use it to gank enemy if your ally need one. IF enemy have Odin save it for escaping
Ring of Spears. In late game, you could use it to split pushing.
There are 4 builds from me that is viable to choose.
For a new apollo build 1 and 2 is a good choice.
If you are at side lane with a partner, choose build 1. If you are solo laning or mid, build 2 will be good for sustain.
If you are an advanced player, all build is possible.
If you want to play risky, build 3 is good because it have a lot of damage but without boots and will lose stacks if you die.
Build 4 is for jungle BUT still not tested but i think it is possible for Apollo to jungle with his crazy steroid passive
A full item explanation will be made by me and i will linked it.
Apollo is a ranged ADC. He could also be said as an Assassin with his damage and initiation.
Early Game
In early game, your job is too farm. Just farm your lane so it is not pushed. If you are mid, play passively as mid usually have better pushing abilities. Asking for blue from jungler might be good as now you could spam your 1 to push. If you are soloing, you must ask for blue. It will give you time to spam 1 as you need it to outpush 2 people. If you are with an ally (duo lane) just push. If your support initiate, help them but attacking from a safe distance.
Mid Game
In mid game, you could start to roam the map. But don't let your lane being pushed too hard. Protect your lane as well as gank other lane. To gank, auto attack first, then if they get close to you, serenade them. Position yourself then use So Beautiful at good position. If they run, use
The Moves to chase. Still running? Use
Across The Sky to finish them.
Late Game
Late game is your ruling time. Your damage is unbeatable. Just don't go anywhere alone as you are so squishy. If you are ganked when you are alone, you will die (except you have Across The Sky Attack enemies from safe distance when your allies initiate. IF you lose most of teamfight, do split pushing. This will separate the enemies and you might win. If you win most teamfight, keep pushing until you destroy the phoenix. If you are balanced with enemy, you could do either of it. Watch the fire giant. If enemies at fire giant, you could steal it with across the sky. If you have HoG, it is even better. It is worth to die for stealing FG.
So, that's my guide to Apollo.
More to be added like a good match up, hard enemies and many other possibilities. Thanks for reading. Good gaming

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

Your guide was great until it got outdated. I recommend you to make a whole new one.

Don't underestimate the trinity of ADC (anhur, neith, apollo). So, here's the reason why apollo is better.
Cupid stun is pretty bad cause he needs to stack it up 10 times. Meanwhile, Apollo's serenade doesn't need anything and after 10 attacks, he even get 100% attack speed.
Second, cupid's ult is not that reliable. IF he suddenly come in a teamfight, he couldn't ult cause he hasn't stack it up. It don't stun and only serenade. Additionally, Apollo's ult offer a worldwide presence which is a very important thing in a MOBA game
Well yes, Cupid's 2 offers a lot of sustain, BUT, Apollo can build lifesteal and enable him to sustain too. (additionally, Apollo doesn't really need his 1 to clear waves, passive is enough)
Watch some competitive play and Cupid is not used a lot
Please do not get me wrong, your guide is great and Apollo indeed is a very good ADC.
What I am trying to say is that Cupid has a bit more utility in team fights, and it is useless to compare the ADCs because they fit in certain comps and it depends what his purpose will be in a team fight or team in general. Again, I was only talking about team fighting.
What seems funny to me (and the reason I replied in the first place) is that you compared Apollo with all the other adc and you make it look like Apollo is the best one. Well he might be but not in everything. Others might be good at other stuff.
A quick example now that we talked a little about Cupid. Comparing the 2, IN MY OPINION, both are good in a duo lane but Cupid has a slight less killing potential in early game. Also Cupid farms a little harder (from my experience farming with 1 on both gods will not fully clear a minion waves in early game) but he has infinite mana if 2 is properly used with a good coordination with your duo partner and better sustain because if worst comes to worst he can pick the hearts himself.
Apollo is very good at finishing up running enemies and his passive is more powerful especially in a 1v1 situation.
Cupid can be played as a support and it is a viable choise, Apollo is not.
Appolo if get caught by at least 2 or 3 opponents will not have time to ult out but Cupid can use the ult defensively and still have a chance of survival, but then again Apollo's ult is awesome at split-pushing and ganking too.
In team fights Apollo can mermerize but it will require him to be in melee range which in some team fights it might not be viable for the adc to be in melee range, while cupid doesn't have to be in melee.
Both 3's abilities in team fights should ne used for positioning and escape. If used as a damage source you're not going to make it far.
Apollo has to sacrifice his CC for steroid and Cupid his escape for steroid so it is situational, kinda seems like an even trade.
What I personally notice when I play both is that I can get early kills way easier with Apollo but he needs to be played more aggressively than Cupid, but my sustain is weaker as Apollo than Cupid so it is again, personal preference and if you master both it comes down to team comp where Apollo is more flexible. He can fit easier in team comps than Cupid which probably is the main reason he gets more picks in competitive.
Another reason while it is picked more in competitive is because of his high early kill potential.
Bottom line is that all ADCs are good for something and there is none that is best at everything. I think they are pretty balance but some have higher skill cap than others.
For example if you look at Artemis she is very weak compared to others (that's why she's not picked much in competitive play <<especially with no escape capability>>) but property built and with a good team synergy she can be a beast.
I just wanted for you to see where I'm coming from.
Thumbs up for a good guide though!

Indeed Apollo will clear waves easier and is better at ganking but I guess it comes to personal preferences.
I f***ing hate English grammar XD
I upvoted, by the way. You really do need to work on the grammar though haha.
I feel like Transcendence is a must have for Apollo in most situations. It is more expensive than Heartseeker, but if you get it as a 5th item and clear some lanes/camps, it's really great.
