I always start with Bancroft's Talon and Meditation Cloak.
Build depending on who is on your team and who you are playing against. If you have to play more like a mage/tank I recommend building one of the cloaks (Magi's Cloak or Mantle of Discord). This is why I only chose 6 items instead of 7. Always build based on who you are playing against and who is on your team (I cannot stress that enough). Some people will say, "NO MY BUILD ALWAYS WORKS." I beg to differ.
If defense is not necessary I recommend building movement speed and health (Shoes of Focus or Shoes of the Magi) instead of one of the cloaks.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Zeus is a target no matter what you build on him because he can nuke an entire team if they're low and get caught in his ultimate. So you generally want to build power, pen, and cdr on him with a defense item if necessary (e.g.
As this builds stands I cannot in good faith recommend it to anybody in any mode because it's just not efficient and there are better items for him like the ones Bran mentioned.

It does seem by your writeup that you're serious about the build, so I will give you a chance to explain your position and build IN DETAIL before considering this for straight archive, which it honestly should be unless actual build changes are made...but I still want to hear your thoughts.
