Summary

These Builds work on all guardians and most warriors; it gives over 3000 health and over 290 of both magical and physical defence.

Build #1 should be used on defensive guardians when you're more worried about keeping your team alive and stopping the enemy assassin from killing your mage or hunter in the back line, personally i recommend Build #1 on khepri , sylvanus and athena .

I would recommend you use Build #2 on aggressive guardians such as Ares , Xing tian , Ymir and fafnir as well as aggressive warriors like bellona and cu chulainn .

I am open to listening to your feedback and will create a build #3 using any suggestions from you that I find work better then Build #1 and #2.

Hi Darkwolf,

The base of this build seems fine, but there are some questionable choices.
  • Typically you'll want Shoes before anything else, though sometimes Gauntlet of Thebes could work.

  • Heartward Amulet built as 5th item is a bit late IMO.

  • Hide of the Urchin isn't the greatest Support item. It's too selfish and you can get a lot of better utility out of other items.

  • Mystical Mail is mostly a Solo item for early pressure. Not so much for Support.

  • Why doesn't your "aggressive" build consider Stone of Binding?

  • Chronos' Pendant is not a good Support item.

  • You list Mantle of Discord, but not Spirit Robe. Why?!?

  • Emperor's Armor isn't a good late-game item when you sell shoes. It's better earlier when you have less overall protections. Late-game, you can tank the towers/phoenixes without worrying too much.

  • Midgardian Mail shouldn't just be considered late. Especially as Athena, for example, when facing multiple basic attackers, you bring a ton of added control combining the passive from Midgard with your taunt.

  • You don't actually mention getting Elixir of Speed when you replace shoes.

  • Since you're using this as sort of a "universal" guardian build, but are using Khepri as the example, your skill leveling really should be improved. Typically you'll want your ult leveled when available. Not sure why you delay.
I personally wouldn't follow your example build list for any guardian. A lot of it is okay, but enough of it is off that there needs to be better flexibility in your build than what you present.

you're right i should of mentioned about Elixir of speed ill be sure to add that.

the reason why i said about Emperor's and Midgardian later on is because IMO they're not good items unless you have a solid build and just want to add something a little extra.

i personally think Chronos' is a good support item if you need something a little extra (keep in mind elixir is really late game when you just need a little push you know) it helps with getting cc abilities back in team fights and if you're Khepri, ares or a god that has an ult that could flip a fight getting it back faster would be a good idea IMO.

spirit robe i never get its just not as good as the other 3 its less protections and no health if i was on anything or then a tank/support maybe but otherwise no, however i understand people think otherwise and that's okay.

stone of binding is actually really good and in all honesty i completely forgot about it so ill be sure to add it in the future.

mystical mail is really under appreciated as an early item in lane you should try it.

all in all you make a lot of valid points and ill be sure to try and see for myself if i prefer your choices, thank-you for your feedback

I can understand where you like the effects from Chronos, as it's almost like having 30% CDR in one item. But in most cases, I'd just prefer CDR from items that also provide protections.

With regard to Spirit Robe, I think it's something you should reconsider. 20 mag/phys protections less than Mantle isn't that big of a difference, and when you drop the function of Mantle's passive (that has a 90 second CD), you're getting so much more potential out of Spirit.
  • 400 gold less expensive
  • 20% crowd control reduction (this is pretty big)
  • Situational 15% damage mitigation with much lower CD than Mantle
When you have protections from multiple other items, the lower protections of Spirit are balanced very nicely by the other stats. I feel that Mantle is a better solution for squishy gods that can use the higher protections (when they have very little in the first place), and more specifically the passive stun to allow them to potentially get away (or finish a kill) when they need it most. Mantle for squishies, Spirit for tanks.

As for Mystical Mail, I know it can have some great early pressure, but it puts you in a potentially bad situation. If you hit enemy gods, it immediately sics any nearby minions on you. And if you're fighting near minions, it could also mean you're getting the last hits and stealing farm from teammates. It's also expensive. Altogether, not worth it to me.
