There really isn't too much to say about this build except...well...LIFESTEAL. By the time you have full build, and the Devourer's gauntlet is fed completely, you will have 2.11 attack speed, and 85% physical lifesteal.
As you are building up, simply allow the auto-skill-level system to take care of the skills for you, and worry about going after a damage camp. Once you have that, continue to feed on XP camps while making short trips in-lane to assist, kill-ste *COUGH* I mean..um Kill SECURE...and feed on minions. THIS BUILD IS MOST EFFECTIVE MID-GAME. YOUR ENTIRE OBJECTIVE IS TO BE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR JUNGLER AT BAY, FORCE ENEMY LANERS TO FALL BEHIND ON LEVELS BY EITHER KILLING THEM OUTRIGHT, OR FORCING THEM INTO A RETREAT. ONCE LATE-GAME BEGINS, YOU ARE NO LONGER THE ULTIMATE BADASS. AT THAT POINT, KEEP TABS ON ENEMY GODS VIA YOUR PASSIVE AND TAKE OUT PEOPLE WITH YOUR ULT. YOUR LIFESTEAL WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP YOU ALIVE AGAINST LATE-GAME GUARDIANS OR MAGES UNLESS YOU HAVE A FULL WAVE OF ENEMY MINIONS TO FEED ON WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY FIGHTING AN ENEMY GOD.
I am still fairly new to smite, but I have used this build every single time out of the many I have played as Thanatos and it works beautifully.

This guide also lacks gameplay. And without CDR or crits, your damage won't be too high, either.
Answer this: Why not just build crits to make the lifesteal you already have be more efficient?
