THREAT LEVEL MAXIMUM BASTET BUILD

For the jungle and arena!

Getting this out already, my first build that I've published, because I didn't see any Bastet builds that had her played the way I'd like to. That being said, let's get underway!

So...What's a Bastet, and why should I use Nuka-Cat on her?

"The goddess Bastet was usually represented as a woman with the head of a domesticated cat. However, up until 1000 BC she was portrayed as a lioness. Bastet was the daughter of Ra, the sun god. It may have been through him that she acquired her feline characteristics. When Re destroyed his enemy Apep, he was usually depicted as a cat. As portrayed as a cat, she was connected with the moon (her son Khonsu was the god of the moon). When shown as a lioness, she is associated with sunlight.

Bastet was the goddess of fire, cats, of the home and pregnant women. According to one myth, she was the personification of the soul of Isis. She was also called the "Lady of the East". As such, her counterpart as "Lady of the West" was Sekhmet.

Bastet as a cat headed woman, Bastet seemed to have two sides to her personality, docile and aggressive. Her docile and gentle side was displayed in her duties as a protector of the home, and pregnant women. Her aggressive and vicious nature was exposed in the accounts of battles in which the pharaoh was said to have slaughtered the enemy as Bastet slaughtered her victims." Egyptianmyths.net

So, Nuka-cat, my guide, why should you use it? Who's this Camillis jerkwad? Well...I've tested this build quite a bit, and find it to suit my playstyle for Bastet, that of being a bombastic terror inducing assassin that causes her foes to flee at the sight of her. Wanna lane? There are plenty of guides for that! And who's Camillis?!?! Absolutely nobody, a total nobody who plays Smite all day, so you should take this build.

ASSAULT

As stated above, this guide is intended for jungling and the arena. If Bastet is drawn in assault, swap out Devourer's Gauntlet for Bloodforge!

COMBAT

This build leaves Bastet with a traditional feeling jungle build, optimized for harassment and big hits, and is fully functional in arena.

In jungle, simply follow the tried and true path, ganking where is needed, take hand of gods early to make this easier, it's also a good idea to temporarily hold a lane while its designated defender is returning to base.

Simply start out god engagements with your pounce, give them a good whack to apply frostbound and then use razor whip, proceed to beat them merciless, try to keep behind them. If they start to make a run for it with hope of escape, use declaw and keep on them unless you can't, if you can't or shouldn't pursue at this point, use your pounce again to escape the engagement.

100 THOUSAND RADS BUILD

DANGER! FUN! EXPERIMENTAL BUILD!

On the second build on the guide, you have been warned, this is an extremely unbalanced build, intended for fooling around, as well as seeing just how hard you can hit.

How do I fight like this?

Run around, fast as you can, then leap from the shadows and use your atomic whip to obliterate anything that moves.

Simple...Just don't get hit.

@Aramey

With the nerf, it's a definite good alternative. I'll be testing that.

As Bastet is ability-based this build doesn't have the full potential on her, but might still work. As you didn't build attack speed I would replace Deathbringer with Malice - you get same power and crit chance, pay less gold and actually you might have higher damage output.

I think the best way to play her is ability-based not AA based.

pretty poor guide with no explanation to the item picks and no real detail on how to play her.
