Start off farming and dropping whirlpools from afar. Kraken when appropriate. Basically play him like any power Poseidon. The surprise comes when you quickly buy Demonic Grip, Fatalis, and Achille's Spear at the end. Change your playstyle to a more basic-attack style, being sure to activate Achille's whenever possible in conjunction with your Trident. This seems to greatly throw people off, as suddenly your attack speed almost doubles and you have the ability to stick to them like glue. Try to trap them in your Whirlpool as you relentlessly attack them with Trident strikes.
I don't care if you downvote this guide since it really isn't a guide. It's more of a build and an idea for advanced Poseidon players. Most basic-attack Poseidons build into it early. This really devastates people because it switches from raw power to a hybrid basic attack/ability build and no one ever seems to see it coming. The attack speed boost from Fatalis, Demonic Grip, and Achille's Spear is 90%. Add to that the 30% increase in movement speed from Achilles's and the 25% from Poseidon's #2 along with the 35% lifesteal of Achille's and you have instant toast if you play your cards right.
Play it safe and then hit them when they least expect it! Enjoy the build and thank me later! Sorry for the bland all-text chapter. I just wanted to share this with the Smite community because I literally have not lost a Joust since coming up with this build and playstyle and it's been a few days now. Please give this build a chance, it's astonishingly good. Thanks!
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
