I have been playing duel for a good amount of time with Vulcan, one of my best gods and my go to since he's rarely banned. This guide is to help players that are looking for help to learn, and practice Vulcan in duel... I have not tried this build in Joust, I have a separate build that will be coming for Joust.
The items I have chosen for this build to to provide a ton of both dps and if you play smart, you should also be able to get away from fights that aren't going your way. I normally start off the match with soul stone and lvl 1 boots, with some pots if I think that I will not engage into an early fight, but if I feel I need the cooldown and attack speed super early, then that's what I'll buy. Warlock's Sash is a really good stacking item, since it is a stacking item it will slow you down a bit, but chances are that your opponent is also stacking. Building stacks is really easy for Vulcan because of his turret, your wave clear will be very quick, very early in the game. Rod of Talhuti is a pretty expensive item, but is worth it, the power increase is so good to get when stacking Warlock's, and also late game you will melt your opponent with this build. I like Cronus pendent for basically the same reason why I enjoy Rod, the power is great, but it also gives you 20% cdr which is great. Spear of magus because not only does it give you power, but it also provides some penetration, Last item can be anything that you feel you need, if you need pen and power, then get pen and power, need lifesteal, get lifesteal, basically the last item is situational. Around the later parts of the game, when your full build, I advise you to change you cooldown boots for some power boots, extra damage in my opinon better then the cooldown and attack speed.
The relics are situational, I like to get med, curse, or puri as my first relic, and then depending on how the fight is going, I could go sprint, sanctuary, etc as my second relic.
I personally find the most success with leveling the 1 first because of the damage, and the great accuracy that I have with it. the canon is leveled next because the 1+2 is not only great wave clear but it's a win every fight if played correctly. If being chased then always place to turret towards the way your going, it may either slow him down, make him leave, or you might even be able to turn and fire your 1 at the opponent and get the kill. You can either use your ult as an engagement or as defense and zoning. Practice makes perfect with your accuracy with your 1, I personally Place my turret in lane to take out the minions, and drop my 3 on the other god and wherever he lands is where my 1 is gonna be. only time I don't do this combo is early game when I'm stacking, I'll use not only my turret for lane but I'll use my 1 on the minions too.
Pros:
1. High Damage
2. Good cooldown
3. Very protected at the same time can be offensive.
4. Great ult for zoning
5. Turret allows you to take buffs quick without taking any damage
Cons:
1. Slow start since stacking
2. Kind of easy to dodge ult
3. Mana Hungry
4. Can't fall behind in levels
Remember PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. The more you play Vulcan, the more you'll understand his abilities and items. These items are for heavy dps which is what I feel Vulcan is, a heavy dps Mage. The 1 is super strong so level it first, turret is super effective so level that next, and great poke from your 3 but level it after turret and then of course you ult. Thank you for reading through this build, I hope you try it and tell me what you think. Let me know if there are any improvements you have for me to try in the comments, and once again Thanks.
