I mainly use this build in the jungle, but I also use it in the ADC role with success.
Lots of S9 ring nerfs have made them fairly weak on stats, especially on attack speed. Demonic Grip still has high DPS to the cost, mostly because of it's attack spd, defense reduction, and low price. Shogun's and Protector have massive attack speed stats to make up for it. Telkhines is now out of favor because the DPS to the cost is fairly weak since the last nerf, it definitely needs a price reduction. Hastened Ring is also low DPS to cost for the haste effect, but if you are competent at using Banish to place enemies out of position and use the ult to substitute for the haste effect on chasing kills, you can output a much stronger power curve without Hastened.
This whole build is fairly low cost, which often allows an Elixir of Defense in most longer games. Bracer is very strong right now, as it is basically a sprint with 15% power increase. Bracer+Hecate+Protector can combine to provide 45% increased magic power, which is massive late game. Having almost maxed attack spd, lifesteal, and 800 power Freya, while also having almost 200 of each protection in the jungle and 10% damage reduction is incredibly frustrating to deal with in late game team fights. This is definitely a penta-kill build late game in the jungle in casual matches, from personal experience.
Also, this build has high lifesteal, but even against anti-heal, with the way Typhon's generates m.pwr off of lifesteal (Typhon's gives 184 m.pwr and 10% pen in this build), it is very cost effective and high damage even without the lifesteal, despite it being the most expensive item in the build. You can also still use jungle camps or lane minions to heal out of combat instead against heavy anti-heal comps.
The Shogun's could be built after Hecate if you are laning against a magic damage god. Building it first would make clearing lane difficult.
Nimble Rod of Tahuti is still very strong DPS on Freya, but the cost was the main reason it was dropped off this list so that an Elixir of Defense could be picked up more often. If you are way ahead or a more glass cannon build is wanted, swap Tahuti for Shogun's. Swapping it into any other item spot doesn't noticeably increase full build DPS.
Relics are only general recommendations. Swap them for different items depending on matchups.
