This is the Ultimate Cabrakan Guide. Your job as Cabrakan is to make the lives of your opponents miserable with CC's and to be unkillable, setting the front line for your team to make plays.

So many people worry about building extra damage. DON'T! Cabrakan's kit comes with so much inherent damage, you don't need to hit harder. Get items that help you utilize Cabrakan's strengths, which is stunning and not dying! So stay alive and keep those Cooldown times low!

A full kit from Cabrakan (Which goes as follows: {Seismic Crush >> Refraction Shield (ONLY IF YOU HAVE FULL STACKS) >> Tectonic Shift >> Tremos}) is a nightmare for your enemies and results in one of the longest CC chains in the game. This is where Chronos Pendant because so useful. Once you have Chronos Pendant online, by the time your enemies have escaped your tremors, your already ready to drop another kit.

However, since all of your moves have to be executed in close range, this leaves Cabrakan vulnerable to a beating. No problem for the Mayan God of the Mountains. That's why building Bulwark and getting Meditation/Bracer is so crucial. You need all of the "Get out of jail free cards" you can get. Also, this is what makes Mystical Mail such a great item for Cabrakan, because your enemies are stuck dancing around your tremors while you get that extra dot ticking on top.

If you can DO YOUR JOB and CC the enemy team, especially gods with limited mobility, then you ADC/Mage should have no problem doing the easy work and dropping an kit or two in your perfectly placed ult while your enemies hopelessly try to run away.

"THERE IS NO ESCAPE!"

Thats what makes branmuffin amazing though. He has a full time job, a family, and other hobbies. Yet he still makes time to help people who are trying to learn the game.

What have you accomplished in your life?More relevantly, besides obsessing over kriega, what have you contributed to this site?

I just have a passion for the game, even if I'm not all that good.

Boog, chill on ENK. Please.

Hello Branmuffin17,

Thank you for your post! I have changed the title, but I should have made it clear, this is a build for Ranked Joust. While I think that answers a lot of questions in itself, I am happy to go ahead and outline my answers to your questions anyway.

Firstly, what mode(s) is this for?

Joust

Starter consumables: I will say in general, getting both Chalice of Healing AND Chalice of Mana at the start is usually not something done. In a mode like Arena, this would be an awful choice, but I don't know which mode this is for (see question 1). If it's for something like Clash or Siege, I can see it working, though 600 gold for these is a lot of early up-front cost. If it's for Joust, wouldn't do it. And definitely not for Conquest, in whatever role.

I use these consumables in Joust because, as Cabrakan, you are taking a lot of hits from minions, abilities, and auto-attacks. You need to be able to stay in the lane or you will start to fall behind in gold and exp, which can lead to missed opportunities early on when your team hits lvl 5. The Mana Chalice serves the same purpose, longevity in the lane. Cabrakan's move are costly early on with his shallow mana pool, but you need to be dropping stuns as much as possible. For those reasons, I believe making a small gold sacrifice early on leads to early kills in the game.

Relics: In addition, you choose Meditation Cloak, which has its uses, but when combined with your chalices, not sure is the greatest option. In non-Conquest modes, and if playing aggressively, I might opt for that early Blink Rune, or if going defensively, probably the Magic Shell], or perhaps a [[Heavenly Wings since he doesn't have much in the way of an escape.

I get a lot of people telling me about Blink, and I totally agree in its benefits for an aggressive approach, however Meditation has saved my teammates and myself more times that I can count. Similar to the 2 chalices, Meditation gives me that early to mid game longevity in the lane, and helps my teammates out, as well. In addition, it's also great for getting sneaky kills when the enemy thinks your mage is OOM, but you have a clutch Meditation in the back pocket. I included Blink Rune as my alternative choice because I can see where it would fit most play styles better, however Meditation is what suits me.

I always struggle with feeling Mystical Mail is a good early item. I know it's going to be more effective early when enemy HP is still pretty low, but the cost is just so high. Bulwark of Hope is also one of those items that I consider a bit niche...it is just a pure tank item, and brings nothing else to the table. One consideration might be to go Stone of Binding (dual protections, easily applied offensive passive), and then Gauntlet of Thebes or Hide of the Urchin to get more tanky.

Great suggestions and ones I have used before. Here is my reasoning: I will pick either Mythic Mail or Bulwark of Hope as my first item depending on if they have 2 attack damage gods (ADC/Warrior) or 2 magic damage gods (Mage/Guardian). I choose these because they offer a strong combination of both resistances and HP. Mythic mail has the added bonus of being particularly annoying with your Tremors, and can be useful in finishing off kills of slippery opponents. Bulwark gives you a shield that acts as a great safety net for a god like Cabrakan who is constantly taking damage. While you are right that it does not offer too much extra utility, once you build these two items first, you are essentially unkillable. I have changed the build because I have found that Chronos Pendant after the defenses are up offers the best compliment to being unkillable: endless stuns. The reason I dont build Hide of the Urchin or Gauntlet anymore in Joust is because I don't like how squishy I am before stacks. You want to win a Joust quickly, so I want that immediate protection to make me unstoppable.

Cabrakan with Gem of Isolation can be immensely annoying. I'm fine with this pick in a non-Conquest situation.

I touched on this early, but I have found Chronos Pendant to be a lot more useful, but Iso is a great touch at the end to help set up kills.

Mantle of Discord can be functional too, for the passive disruption at lower health. And I get the concept behind getting Chronos' Pendant for the faster ability rotation. That said, I'd probably default to getting even more tanky... Spirit Robe, for example.

The reason I go Mantle is again strictly because it offers more resistances that the other items. Once Mantle of Discord is complete, you will never die again!

Thank you for your response, and I hope you come back to comment on my answers to your questions!

Oh ****, sorry wolf, totally missed this response.

I still don't prefer some of your item choices, but based on your comments, I can understand your points. And although everyone ****s on Meditation Cloak, I do see a use for it. Especially outside of a fight, it's way more functional than Magic Shell, for example.

Again, sorry for the late reply.

Hi wolfs,

I like the concept, and I think your mindset is in the right place. I'm iffy on some of your item choices, or perhaps rather your item order.
  • Firstly, what mode(s) is this for?

  • Starter consumables: I will say in general, getting both Chalice of Healing AND Chalice of Mana at the start is usually not something done.

In non-Conquest modes, and if playing aggressively, I might opt for that early Blink Rune, or if going defensively, probably the Magic Shell], or perhaps a [[Heavenly Wings since he doesn't have much in the way of an escape.

In any case, interested in your feedback.
