Build Logic

Bakasura 3 gives your basic attacks true damage which is why attack speed is so important.
Golden Blade is a cheap item with good attack speed. There is likely a better starter but I appreciate the movement speed for any early game escapes/rundowns and in case you, for whatever reason, need to help clear wave. Its passive in addition to Bakasura 2 is also nice for quickly clearing camps.
Hastened Katana has the obvious benefit of granting Haste on basic attack hit and an extra 7% movement speed. This makes it easier to confirm the entirety of Bakasura 3 unless the enemy team uses crowd control or makes it back under tower in time.
Shogun's Kusari (order interchangeable with Berserker's) is a nice third item as it provides another attack speed spike along with magical protections. Season of Souls has buffed protections and nerfed power, so this item is stronger on Bakasura than it would have been in previous seasons. The extra protections allow you to commit a little harder while also be punished less by a mage if you are briefly out of position. I prefer Shogun's over Berserker's here simply because mage burst is harder to mitigate with Eat Minion than other forms of damage.
Berserker's Shield is useful for the same reasons as shoguns except now we are giving Bakasura some physical protections. Again, the attack speed this item gives is important, but its passive allows Bakasura to commit even harder to kills/hitting his 3. Attack speed boost with some damage mitigation makes peeling through damage dangerous for the enemy team and will likely win you any 1v1s (unless you're underleveled).
The Ferocious Executioner doesn't provide anything that Bakasura doesn't love: solid attack speed, the most power in the build, our only "penetration", and a passive that works incredibly with our protections as well as buff Bakasura 3. This passive, berserker's passive, and hastened's passive all mean that once you're on your target, it will be hard to peel you off, especially if they are alone. A reminder that if you get all stacks of ferocious (which shouldn't be hard with your attack speed and if they decide to basic attack you), you'll reduce their protections by 24% and increase your damage output by 20% (if they aren't already dead).
Qin's Sais continues to buff what we are already focusing. It has more power, more attack speed, and more power per basic attack. Can't go wrong with this item to close out the build. Also helps shred tanks even more (which Bakasura already has with his 3 and The Ferocious Executioner).

Once you've finished your build, consider replacing Golden Blade with one of the situational items. Late game Golden Blade will not be doing nearly as must as the items on the situational list.

In Joust, I probably wouldn't recommend Baka go with Golden Blade. You're fine going into the minion wave and eating one, but since you're melee range, you probably shouldn't be the one handling most of the clear...that should be your mage (if you have one), or preferably someone else with better overall wave clear. In Conquest, absolutely to help with jungle camps, but otherwise...skip as it delays your build quite a bit.

If I were building semi-bruiser with the 2 prot items like you're doing, I don't know if I'd get them early or late, but I'd probably say later when damage builds are coming online more. Again, even if these provide AS, they're sort of stunting your damage.

In considering Butcher Blades, since it gives you a bonus to true damage, I would probably consider grabbing Qin's Sais before The Executioner, though if you have another physical god on your team, Exe might be good to help them deal more damage too. Yes, the passive from Qin's is physical so will be mitigated, but I'd still probably get Qin's first here, and Exe after.

You could technically also consider going crit. I see Silverbranch in your situationals, and don't think that is ever a really viable option, especially since AS % has been nerfed for most items.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I've been meaning to reply since I saw you post this on the 27th.

Thanks for dropping the comment. Like I said, I want people suggestions if they have any because I suspected my building instincts were still a little rusty.

I think you're right about Golden Blade for sure. I was iffy on that item, but what finally made me include it was that usually my mage doesn't clear wave. But I probably shouldn't have included it in the build because of that.

I think you are likely also right about when to build the 2 prot items. I personally like getting them mid game where many power spikes tend to happen since my focus is on using all of baka's true damage on every Butcher Blade. So I want to survive for 6 seconds attacking someone.

I also think your call to grab Qin's first is a good idea and I would like to hear your feedback on building Ferocious Executioner first. I originally had built Qin Sais and not had Exe in the build at all. But then I reread Ferocious Executioner and realized that with every basic traded between me and my target would increase the damage they take by 2%. Assuming this applies to true damage, I thought to build Ferocious Executioner first for the protection shred and the bonus damage taken by Butcher Blades (though part of me feels like the 20% bonus damage done by true damage wouldn't be done as true damage)...
So yeah I don't actually know between Ferocious Executioner and Qin's.

And finally, I think you're right, I don't think Silverbranch is worth it. Especially since the nerf to silverbranch itself.

P.S. How do I reference items and abilities like you do in your message?

If you've got a mage and they're able to clear wave with their abilities safely, they 100% should be doing that rather than you. If they aren't, they aren't recognizing their first and most important job, to clear the wave and either relieve pressure or outclear and force pressure on the enemy team.

Regarding the protection items and living for 6s while attacking, I would be curious how you approach a fight.

- What are you doing 3v3? While your main job is enemy god damage, you don't just want to jump in as an initiator. It's best if you and/or teammates are baiting out some abilities first...for gods that aren't basic attackers, if you can do that, you remove (temporarily) one of the main ways you would get burst down. You also have to watch for CC in particular, as you're very susceptible to getting locked down and blown up. So it's super important for Baka to pick and choose his battles. You're much more likely to survive for 6 seconds while you're going in on them AFTER enemy abilities are down. (Also, bait out any escapes they have when possible or recognize when they've used it as a better time to engage)

- What are your teammates doing? There are definitely things you can/should be considering depending on teammates and their gameplay style. If you've got a tank, are they initiators or are they mainly looking to peel in case you're jumped on? You may need to adjust your game a bit.

If you're not going crit, then The Ferocious Executioner is your glyph to get...BUT, you probably shouldn't pick that up until more of your build is completed. I believe Qin's is probably the higher DPS item if you're choosing between it and Exe, BUT, I might consider Exe before Qin's (like I said above) if you've got another physical god on your team that isn't getting it (e.g. a warrior). If it's you and a hunter + a guardian tank, I'd probably leave Exe for the hunter to pick up (unless they're going ability-based with Jotunn's / Crusher / HS etc.), and maybe grab Dominance in its place...?

You can reference items, gods, and skill names by putting them in double brackets, and that will link it to the SF database.

One other thing, in Joust, you're less worried about sustain. You MIGHT consider adjusting your skill leveling situationally. While getting Eat Minion as 2nd priority in Conquest is normal, you might actually go with Take Down for the damage before it. And if you're maintaining high pressure, having your ult up a bit quicker isn't a bad thing, so just level the ult when it feels good to do so. If you're being pushed back and not being able to be aggressive often, then I might prioritize differently.

Also, if you're not getting Eat Minion and want some extra health sustain, you can always pick up a Chalice of Healing.
