Taxus baccata is a toxic conifer native to Europe, northwest Africa and southwest Asia and traditionaly known as yew. All its parts are toxic except its berries, however their seeds are toxic. It also produce cytotoxic pollen which cause headaches, itching and skin rashes.
Hi everyone. Here's a build I designed for playing Sylvanus in Arena. It is a very powerful damage based build with an all-around utility purpose. The goal is simple ; be a pain in the *** for enemy team and help your teammates secure kills. Throw your 1 on helpless victim trying to escape, pull 'em with your 3 and bodyblock them. As their teammates try to help, ult and use your 2. Y'all know how this works anyway, right? You may also steal the show with Sunder that provides easy kills. Keep that in mind : you can pull out lot of damage if you play correctly but your main goal is to help your teammates and be a nightmare to enemy team.
Shoes of Focus provides the early mana and cooldown needed. Plain and simple. No need for pen boots in this build, you'll get Void Stone later anyway.
Adventurer's Blade gives you early health and movement speed. Health is sometimes underestimated in Smite as if defense was the only way. In fact, health items cost less and serve the same purpose ; keeping you alive. Adventurer's Blade/Winged Blade is, in my opinion, a very underestimate item and one of my favorite, especially for guardians for some reason. Winged Blade's passive is also very helpful and the attack speed if not negligible.
Rod of Asclepius is a core item in this build. It makes Sylvanus' 2 shine ; you provide good amount of healing to your teammates so they don't have to back too often. Also provides lot of health and movement speed, which is amazing in this build.
Void Stone is also an item that I appreciate a lot on guardians and that I feel is somehow underestimated. Think about it ; gives you penetration, which is really needed at that point but also provides magic pen for your magical mates. And, on top of that, a decent amount of magical power and magical defense. Another core item in this build and definitively a must.
Ok, now since you're always in action, being a nightmare for your ennemies, and you slow 'em with your ult, stun and pull 'em around you, why not getting Mystical Mail? Yeh right? Also provides physical defense and health. A bit costly but a great item in this build.
Use Blink often for agressive engagement and to secure kills.
Finally, I added Spear of Desolation as last item if you get time to buy it at late game. Some more power, pen and a decent 10% CDR. Also cost less than Rod of Tahuti, which would be kinda overkill and not so useful anyway.
Other thoughts :
I succesfully tried other damage build for Sylvanus in arena, of course, with other items such as Soul Reaver and the excellent Hide of the Urchin but I feel these items are more suitable for a damage Ymir for example. Relic Dagger might be a great sustitute for Winged Blade but I think Winged is better. The build I provide here makes Sylvanus kit shine but you gotta adapt your playstyle for it obviously. You'll have to play agressively and don't worry about getting damaged so much ; you'll make enemies waste their abilities. In that train of thought, make sure to provide good bodyblocking to save your teammates from autoattack and to secure kills. So, that's it. Let me know what you think. And as always, have fun!
Beware of the toxic tree!
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

I will try to play an Hybrid build and maybe just delay Void Stone for Lotus Crown and not take Mystical Mail. That's still enough Physical defense for us and provide an extra 20 Resistance to Self and allies without compromising too much on the damage.
