Hi everyone. Chaac is my favorite solo laner and my Unstoppable ! build from season 4 got more than 100k views and good comments and appreciation. Thanks y'all ! I'm glad people appreciated it so now I'm sharing my Chaac build for season 5. I'm having great success with this build right now and I'm happy to share it again.
Intro
Just a very short and quick guide on Chaac for season 5. He is still doing extremely well as a solo laner and here's how I build him right now. Idea is combining these 3 items :
Gladiator's Shield passive provides health and mana regeneration based on your maximum health and mana. So building more health and mana is beneficial. It's also a cheap item that's going to give you so much sustain ; so that you can back less often, stay in lane longer, get more XP and gold.
Shield of Regrowth also provides so much sustain, with that 300 HP, 10 HP5 and MP5. It's also cheap, only 2100 gold. And the passive works so well on Chaac, it's unbelievable. Getting ganked by jungler ? No problem just press 3 and GTFO. Later on your team finally decides to rotate here, you press 3 and run to the fight, slowing the low HP squishies trying to escape helplessly in the rain and smash 'em down. That's the Unstoppable ! Chaac build. They can't catch ya and when you catch 'em they can't escape.
Jotunn's Wrath gives you 150 mana so that's also helpful with Gladiator's Shield, decent physical penetration and a magnificient 20% cooldown reduction. So now at that point you have max cooldown (40%).
Build Order
The Core build is an example of what I end up building most of the time. But I often go straight into Shield of Regrowth after Warrior Tabi. Or straight into Jotunn's Wrath and then Shield of Regrowth. Sometimes you don't need Brawler's Beatstick early or not at all. So core build order depends on what God you're facing against in solo lane, what they're building and how you want to handle the situation. Getting Shield of Regrowth right away seems like the slower play but the fact is that it's cheap and you probably have enough damage already. You may also don't need penetration yet at all and just staying in lane longer will be more beneficial.
For late game, replacing Gladiator's Shield with Shifter's Shield is a good option. You can get the 10% cooldown reduction back with a Mantle of Discord or even a Spirit Robe if you don't have time to wait for the extra 400 gold. The Mantle of Discord's passive doesn't really matter that much on Chaac so both are good options.
So that brings me to some more items options to consider ; The Crusher, Genji's Guard, Bulwark of Hope, Titan's Bane, Qinn's Sais ... They all certainly works, especially in casual. I just feel like they don't quite make it to the list right now. Also, Mage's Blessing would probably work well on Chaac. I just prefer the safer option for now.
Relics
Here are some Relic choices.
Of course, Beads is sometimes necessary, or even Aegis, Thorns might be a good option, Blink can be really fun just to blink in and ult in a fight. Go for what you want but I believe these 3 shown here are the best options to consider.
Abilities and Playstyle
Always max 1 first and then max 2 or put points in both 2 and 3. The Skill Sequence provided shows what I usually go for.
Your 1 is your main damage ability. Poke, kill secure and annoying rain machine for your 3. Your 2 provides good AoE clear and good damage overall. Putting points in 3 gives you more healing and more slow pourcentage. Depends on what you need at that point. Don't forget that your 3 cancels your 1 leap, which is very useful.
Your 1 and 2 combo is your wave clear. Just throw your 1 in the middle of the wave to hit both the front line and archers, than you press 2, teleport in there and hit 'em all. Pretty simple. Just be careful against a Hercules for example that is just gonna wait for you to teleport before stunning you. That's some pretty obvious stuff but I'm just giving tips for noobs.
You don't want to put points in ult asap. Your ult is not that important. Just use it as a silence and knock back. Helps you escape, helps with team fights, helps you secure objectives. But don't use it as a damage ability. It's an utility ult. Don't be scared to waste it, for example, to clear a wave before backing, just to secure an escape, etc. Any way it can be useful, just use it.
Don't forget about Chaac's passive also. Just be aware that you can sometimes use an ability for free. If you're low on mana and you get mana buff with a free ability, you may be able to stay in lane longer, clear a wave before backing for instance. Always think about XP and farming. Don't overstay neither. Just be smart.
Conclusion
Hope you like this build. Any comments are appreciated. Feel free to share your build and what worked for you. As season 5 progresses and meta changes, with maybe some items' changes, these comments and build ideas will be useful to update this guide if necessary.
You move like a jaguar ! Eh !
