WARNING: This Guide (especially Offense Build) is about a Xing Tian play style that is all about quick actions! Go in fast, do your thing, go out fast again!
Xing Tian has had his best days in season 2, there is no doubt but now people just underestimate him strongly. He still is a very powerfull Bruiser and can be a good support choice in terms of disrupting the enemy, denying some of their ADC damage and combo breaking.
His play style is definitly more the one of a Warrior but that can be again a good choice in some team setups. In draft pick matches like a ranked conquest you can use Xing Tian as a counter pick to an enemy team with high ADC-damage like 2 Hunters or Osiris/Bakasura/Arachne/... (your Breath ability will break there basic attack damage potential) or Positioning-sensitive Mages like Zeus (Invading those Targets with your Sky-Cutting Axe is fairly easy). There are many Options you name it!
Setting up kills for your teammates, what is a very big part of a support's job is very hard with Xing Tian, but can be done. Buy Gem Of Isolation, Close the gap to your target by Sky-Cutting Axe, slow them with Breath and even more with Hook Slam. Slowing your target and just stick to them like one annoying gum on their shoe is key. Always use Breath also as a tool for denying ADC damage, that would hurt your teammates badly, use Hook Slam to disrupt enemies in combos and use your Ultimate to reposition may be even many targets into area damage your teammates can provide. Enemies might buy Purification to beads out of your ult but once it is used and on cooldown you and your team have a 160s time window to succeed with your next ult for example.
Where Xing Tian really stands out is his sustain. Mostly by his passive. While in laning phase try to concentrate on maintaining 12 stacks of your passive like all the time your HP is below 90% (if the mana is available). There for I use Sky-Cutting Axe: Jumping into Archer Minions and re-jumping into Melee Minions gives you a lot of health regeneration and is pretty save to do, because of your speed and protection buff while in air.
Always Initiate with Sky-Cutting Axe. It will give you a very high amount of Protections for a short time and should be your most used ability in my personal opinion. It is your biggest tool for closing gaps and if Gem Of Isolation equipped even slow the target for a high amount of time (wait a bit between both jumps). Still best slowing tool once you have Gem Of Isolation is Breath with a total amount of 6 seconds of slow next to Hook Slam what will almost root enemies because Gem Of Isolation stacks on top of its built-in slow.
The last thing i want to talk about is the items i chose to use in this builds. You are pretty much the most mobile guardian in the game. Use this to your advantage. Get in, do your thing quick, get out again, so your passive has time to heal you back up. To improve this strategy I like to go Rod Of Asclepius on him. Extra movement speed will also help collecting enemies while Ult'ing. Usually i don't like Mystical Mail to much but with Xing Tian designed to be one annoying gum of the opponents shoe it can deal a ton of damage. Shoes Of Focus will help his mana hunger especially in the early game. Gem Of Isolation is kind of a must-have but the buying order is not always the same depending on your role.
