Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

Guan Yu and Athena.
If you build Guan Yu all physical power, and start Athena off with tankiness but magical power later on, then they will be nearly unstoppable.
Imagine this, Preemptive Strike -> Warrior's Will -> Shield Wall -> [Confound]] -> Taolu Assault]] on another solo/duo god team. Absolutely fantastic combo.
Oh, and then there is using Defender of Olympus on Guan Yu while he is using Cavalry Charge.
This combo truly is amazing. My best friend and I use this as our duo lane combo and we do very well. It requires a considerable amount of synergy, but it can be done and if done right you will not regret it.
Except Guan Yu, being melee, would be in too much risk to be laning in the long lane. You can run him solo, and have Athena be your tank, but really, you team would benefit better with an ADC laning in the long lane.
Personally, I've always wanted to try out:
Sobek
Neith
Eset
Ra
Bastet
This kinda focuses on Neith's ult, though it can work without it. It focuses on punishing the enemy team, and making sure they can't punish yours. Think about it... no, really. I don't have the time to elaborate atm.
My personal favorite is Sobek and Neith. Sustain, Damage, and a ton of utility.
Sobek initiates with Charge Prey, Neith uses Spirit Arrow, and a few AAs. After the root duration, Sobek go for Tail Whip + Sickening Strike, while Neith keep using AAs or her 2. If the enemy manages to escape, Neith uses World Weaver and Sobek uses Lurking In The Waters. Kill ensured.
I agree with the awsomeness of this combo, but you can also pull it off with other gods which have simular utility and skills, though of course there are none who match Charge Prey and Spirit Arrow. Other gods that can possibly replace Sobek are Hercules with his 2, Mercury with his [Special Delivery]] though both are much harder too hit and are not as good. Instead of Neith you could also use Anhur with his Shifting Sands Impale and Desert Fury Combo. Though harder to pull of he has more damage. Apollo also has posibilities with his Serenade to mesmerise, its easier to hit and gives the team more time for repositioning. But basically you can use any Adc carry or even a mage like Chronos with a stun and potent burst.

And what do you think of anhur and athena, which i sometimes use, or maybe something bursty like loki, arachne (not so bursty but still awsome) or he bo? I will surely try the guan yu combo with my friends athena.
