So, er.
Hm.
Yeah, not a fan. Sorry!
Um, first of all, I like Smite because it's challenging and requires skill to play.
So, in HotS.. there are no items? At all? Erm, yeah, that's detracting.
I mean yeah, they make up for that with the talent system, but even then, half of the ******** talents are locked unless I sink time into a game I really don't want to play.
There's no "champion pack", so, erm, once again, just another time sink, or a money grab..
Really? They call those ultimates? I played whatever the hell her name is, and her ultimate was just a leap with a stun. Whipee do, Fenrir gets that as a regular ability.
Laggy as hell, too.
I'll take a look at it after it's done it's "technical alpha", but right now, it's insanely confusing, with stupid maneuvering mechanics, lame *** ultimates, and tons of time sinks.
Also all top down moba's feel a lot slower because the feeling of action is less. But HotS games are around 20 min while smite is around 40 min (CQ)
yeah a basic mistake that a lot of new (as in never seen or played the game but played other MOBA's) will make. The objectives are a lot more decisive (it's even displayed in the score screen) in this game. Because you got on one map a bombardment of enemy fortifications, on another a curse that halves health of towers and gives 1 hp to minions for x min, a giant statue that does massive damage, etc.
Also a UGP is not a thing every game has (most f2p games go as LoL). and I'm happy they didn't take a sort of Runes system as LoL has (they were planning too but decided not to or that's what I made of it)
I've tried it, just not my cup of tea. I'm like that with MOBAs. At the same time, I played many games in it, so my suggestion is trying it a bit more before you give up on it. It could really be fun to you after you learn the ins and outs of it.
Also considering that every map has a different "mechanic" to it, it will naturally be more confusing than most other MOBAs (if you accept this term).
But pushing is definitely not priority in this game.
That's what I like about it: It's intensely team-based.
And if you think Smite takes skill...my god, Abathur. See any clip of an Abathur game. It is INSANE.
This is going to sound EXTREMELY childish, but, I like playing Smite because I feel powerful, strong, and when I ult, I feel like I'm casting the ultimate spell that's going to totally obliterate, and it feels SO satisfying.
HotS' ults don't really feel like ults. I don't feel super crazy powerful.
Not to mention, er, it feels really slow compared to Smite. Like, even on a mount, you don't feel like you're moving that fast, and the lanes feel extremely small. The depth perception is weird. While you say Sonya's ultimate has insane range, I found it's range to be obnoxiously small. Idk.
How is the game confusing? Well. My first game of HotS, I was popping in expecting to push up a lane, take tower, etc. No, instead there's this seed ********, and suddenly there's this gigantic ****ing seed monster raping everything. I try to kill it, but suddenly the ***** possy roles in on their stupid *** horse mounts and totally rapes the **** out of me.
I would've gotten away, but everyone is slow as **** in that game, and I was frame skipping at the same time.
Idk. I guess it's just not for me.
And seriously though it takes literally two or three games to unlock all talents. That's two-three 20-30 minute games, compared to Smite's 35-55 minute games.
You losing could be thanks to the top-down system versus the old system. It takes me a game or two to get re-used to it, when I switch from/to Smite. It's probably worse for a beginner.
Also, seriously, how is the game confusing?
And if ur looking for a "Champion pack" its still in Alpha so don't expect it to have everything.
The lag is understandable. Its a problem that everyone has with the servers their using
