I hope no one else experiences this glitch in smite

let's start by saying that yesterday started out normal went to work had a long day, read up on smitefire and was excited to play when home. fast forward to after dinner I'm getting smite loaded and ready I que up a duel its how I usually start to get my fingers loosened up and get on point for later games. so I load in no problems at all we ban I pick Ao Kuang and he chooses his platinum Vulcan so I prepare for a tough grueling matchup. game is going good and tough I play very smart and cautious for I know I can win if playing right. like I thought it's a tough matchup I kill him a couple times he gets his first kill on me and gets my tower and then I kill him a couple more times while he is trying to just end the game quickly by destroying objectives because at this point its 5-1 and he can't kill me and ends up dying when he tries, I get bull demon while my tower is down and his tower still up so he can't get my Phoenix down easy. I get his tower while he is hitting my Phoenix, he gets my Phoenix down as I'm downing his tower. I play defend and safe until my Phoenix is back up I kill him once while defending my titan and then go kill bull demon while he is dead, my Phoenix comes up and his Phoenix is still down due to bulldemon so I go straight to trying to kill it before he comes back to life and as soon as I kill the Phoenix and (am about to kill titan and win game) on final blow to Phoenix to bring it down my game surrenders on me out of nowhere I didn't hit start by accident and go into the pause menu and have now idea how this happened because there is now way I would surrender when I was winning 7-1 and just killed his Phoenix. I really hope this is a one time glitch because this upset me beyond belief to the point of me wanting to uninstall smite because that game was big and intense and what happened definitely screwed up things for me i was 37-23 in duels with Ao kuang and am trying to get to top of leaderboards so this definitely upsets someone when now I have no idea if it will happen again and if it did that would really not be ok end rant.

Edit: if possible, please, call me myst as all my friends do. X sounds pretty weird to me :v
XMyst.First possibility: Can be your triggers. XB1 joystick has 2 chronic problems: 1 - The analogs that after a good time starts to move ahead without you even touch it and 2 - the triggers that press/break without touch it. So since to surrender you have to hold the trigger and press the jump analog, if your trigger is with this common problem you could tried to jump then the game surrendered.
Second possibility: The old Hold trigger bug is back. Sometimes when I played the old arena when I tried to level up a skill, the game "sticks" my trigger, like if I was not holding it so I wasn't able to level up a skill but I was able to use it. If I died, then the bug magically disappear. So I don't know if this happen to you but with the opposite, "holding" the trigger.
In this second case I think you would noticed if something was wrong, so probably is the first option.
oh and using new controller so probably not any dead zone problems
