So, my friends know that I like smite but most of them mocking me for playing "unpopular" game. And when I said about that it looks like dota but from 3rd person (dota is more popular than lol here) they laugh too.
I actually got a friend for playing smite too and so I talked to him a lot, but it makes him annoyed by me and eventually stopped.
All my friend like saying "hahaha, hirez? What company is that" it made me irritated. I mean, come on, they only played Assassin's creed, battlefield, FIFA, CoD (and most of it are pirated :P). I mean MOBA is rising now and has more potential as a money making than those games. I felt kinda annoyed
I wished I could move to a country where MOBA is more appreciated (it kinda appreciated but they only played DOTA 1) :(
See, I come from this magical place called College, in the far outreaches of Ihavenolife, my home world. Here, competitive gameplay is much more common, but people don't always quite get what competitive gaming IS. They think Devil May Cry is competitive gameplay... shoot me.
If someone dislikes Smite because they think it's a copy of LoL, then they obviously haven't taken a good look at it. It's all assumption, just as one would assume that children are evil because they knew specific children who were evil... I hate children, people.
The GOOD NEWS, is that I convinced my History of Satan teacher (yes, that class exists) to play Smite and she loved it. Didn't grade our quizzes, but it doesn't matter.
I know Raze is in Indonesia, but where are you Dark Jaw? What I suggest for you both is that you be very... VERY, persuasive. Show the game for what it is, not what they assume it is.
Sounds a good thing for you. Now I'm doomed to play games alone by myself, but I may find a few friends I've made on internet on a event on my city.
Me as an example, I hate Team Fortress 2. Do not ask me why, I simply hate it. Most of my friends like it, and I hate it. I tried it, and hated it.
I'm from Brazil. HUE.
It's not that easy, my friend. I've only convinced a friend to play SMITE, and he is not exactly... the one that lives next door. I've met him only on the internet for now.
Anyway back to topic, I was able to convince 1 of my friend to play it but I'm pretty sure he played it out of pity due to the fact no one wants to play it at all, I have recommended this game to my other friends but they either said that they don't like to play MOBA's or they think the GRAPHICS are bad.
Either way I really don't mind if I only have 1 friend who I can talk to about it, I just don't like people hating on it for stupid things like graphics or thinking of it as a ripoff. I can't force someone to like it and I don't want to do that either but people should try to know what to look for in a game(One of my friends judge games based on their GRAPHICS).

The good thing: LoL is pretty famous here. But people hate SMITE, thinking it's a copy from LoL, so it's a problem for me.
So you're not the only one with the same experience.
1. Your "friends" are trying to be cool by creating an in-group and an out-group. In other words, singling someone one to appeal to others.
2. Thou talkist about Smite too much. If a friend seems irritated with these kinds of things, then find a different subject to talk about. Talking about one thing for a Considerable amount of time bores the **** out if people.
Middle school. Gotta despise it. You could always move to America... Just don't get fat. I'd be pissed.
