The first match was a complete ****up on everyone's part except our solo. It was awful and I do not wish to discuss it.
The second match is what I want to talk about. My team was Guan, Sobek, Xbal, me, and Aphro. Enemy team was Bastet, Agni, Ra, Neith, and Ymir. Bastet was jungling.
I chose to help Guan with his left blue*.
I was in left lane when
Then mid was in trouble from Agni (Agni was almost in the center of the lane), and the mid was at about half health. I tried to gank middle, and failed (Agni was about a single basic away from dying, and Bastet and I were heavily damaged from the fight). Aphro had healed herself to about 60% health, and I recalled.
Left lane had called for help and Bastet was there, so I went. I tried ganking left, but Bastet just Pounced out of my trap and summoned her cats. The embarrassing part is, I died thanks to them, in the middle of a tower. No, Guan did not heal me for some reason nor attacked the cats. I severely underestimated their damage. First death.
Meanwhile, right had overextended. Xbal died, Sobek recalled, cue arguments.
Aphrodite wouldn't take the mid furies when they respawned. The middle had healed herself to about 60% health, and Agni had recalled, and she wouldn't take them, nor ward.
While I was walking from spawn, Aphro died due to Bastet, pretty much in the same spot where Agni was when I tried to gank him.
At this point, I was 0-1-0, and Bastet had three kills and was level 11 when I was level 9, and I was getting nervous. Agni had one level on our Aphro (11 and 10, respectively), and Bastet and Neith were fed, and right duo lane wasn't doing good either.
Both blues were up, and I went left to help Guan with his*, since Sobek had HoG. I moved to gank left, but then Ra died. Since I had little to do, I decided to help mid*.
Agni definitely warded, but I walked toward mid. I had no idea where Bastet was (right side of map was completely dark except for right blue), but I tried ganking mid anyway, since I saw Agni use his dash.
I started hitting him and rooting him, but couldn't do much damage, and I'm not sure what Aprho was doing. He instastunned me and then Bastet came from behind and I got focused to death. Aphro stayed in lane and died shortly after.
Aphro stuck with Doom Orb even though she died twice, I had died twice, and the enemy Bastet had three kills and Agni had one. Right lane was losing, and it continued like that until we lost.
Our teamwork was extremely lacking. Neither Guan nor Aphro healed me at any point, and right duo kept bickering through the match. Morale low, communication virtually nonexistent.
*These are the parts I worry about. I'm not sure if I made the wrong decision here.
After watching the replay, I think I did okay. I didn't do great, and I made some mistakes, but my skills are hopefully fine.
I'll keep trying to advance, hopefully until I get to gold. I plan to stick with the meta until then. Maybe post more like these for help.
I still think Artemis jungle would work, but I guess I'll have to try later.
Her self buff is just attack speed, that is, sustained damage, and as a ranged carry you're not going to be able to dive past their bruiser/tank frontline to get to the mages, and kill them.
Think about Loki. He can stealth past, assassinate the carry, and get out. Ne Zha has immense speed with a dash-reposition-ult. Fenrir has a leap, a minileap, and an ult. Artemis simply doesn't have the ability to focus down a carry or mage, and makes her fall out of favor as a jungler.
I think she can burst. If you can consider a self-buff a method of burst damage, like Ne Zha or Mercury's self buffs. And her three is quite potent. I've had enough success with her to make me think she is viable, I'm just questioning my own skills at the moment.
And yeah, our team was terrible. The last match I played about three minutes ago was much nicer.
Do you think this blog post is a good way to get advice, or should I have put it on a thread?
Also, you guys have, like, zero magic damage. With no decent AoE ults (Xbal's doesn't even provide damage, just semi-utility). You simply didn't have the damage to close.
Seriously though, in ranked the jungler needs to be able to provide burst damage on a mage or carry, and artemis simply doesn't have that. She has LATE game, sustained damage.
Helping your duo lane is generally due to the possibility of scoring a double kill.
Ganking Agni was a good idea tho I'm not sure why your mid laner didn't help.
If you see that things are not going well for your team.Try to get towers or Gold Fury basically try to generate global gold or focus on farming if you fell behind your counterpart. That way you can at least get yourself to late game.
What you did wrong?Apart from seeing the replay if that match I can't tell you specifically what went wrong.
