Ares is useful if you want to have a painful lane (or for arena) he is also pretty good against a team which is beefy as his DoT does % hp damage

However he doesn't offer a lot of hard CC except for his ult.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions.
