In joust, They farm faster than the other 3. That's it. Not sure if their is other reasons but it's true. If they are a capable team they'll easily farm fast enough to clear waves faster and take tower down easily. And in time will be able to reach lvl 20 both and the others will still be lvl 15ish.

It only happens if there is a DC on either side. But once that happens it's gg for the trio.

At least the DotA system for DC'ers isn't in Smite (actually, it would be good for Conquest, but not in this situation): when someone DC's in DotA, after 5 minutes, that player's gold income is then split among the other players on the team, to keep it balanced. That would make it viable to have a person DC in the beginning of a 3v3 match.

3v2 is easy to win....

Just have the 3rd person farm the jungle camps and have it 2v2 in the lane.

I actually noticed that in a similar way in Arena. Its not as noticeable, but it IS noticeable.
