Is it possible? And which god would be perfect for that kind of role?

That would be stupid. Ontop of being a tank you would specialize in healing? I hope that never happens.

I am looking forward to a physical ranged tank though tehehehe(not really, that would be stupidly overpowered also)

Hel can tank to a decent degree, and of course her healing is nothing to be laughed at. But that's about as close as you are going to get to a tank that can heal.

I wouldn't consider Hel to have the ability to tank, even to a degree. There's a big difference between being resilient enough to survive focus long enough for teammates to peel off of you and being a tank; a tank is not only a meatshield, but can initiate and peel. Hel does not have the base protections or kit to be a meatshield and has zero CC for peeling, and although her burst is very high, that does not necessarily mean her initiation is good.

Chang'e is decent - magic tank build, similar to what vulcan would build. Her Dance and Stun give her utility, and ability to be in the middle of a fight, while her healing keeps up the melee in there.

Should they really be built similarly? I would think Vulcan would want to build higher health, whereas Chang'e would want to build higher protections.

hence similar! You still build in a similar fashion, but Vulcan is more health-based so his turrets take more than 1 hit to regen, whereas Chang'E builds protections, so her effective health (health x (1 + %dmgred)) is really high, so that her healing becomes increasingly impactful. Things like Gem of Isolation, Ethereal Staff, Voidstone, Reinforced Greaves, etc. are very strong on tank Chang'E. Hell, Anitoliy (sp?) has done it several times!

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
