Hey guys!

I was playing a lot vs Hades, Ares and other bad CC god latley. Everyone is always going for Purification Beads (haven`t seen an Aegis Amulet in a long time).
I usually go for Aegis Amulet.

My question is: Why take Purification Beads? With Aegis Amulet you can nullify the damage and pull of Ares and Hades Ults AND the following Ultspam. Purification Beads "only" gets you away from those things, but dmg is dmg.

Any opinions?

EDIT: The smitefire database is wrong about active prices. 300/600/900 it is!

Purification Beads, besides the lower cooldown and different "passive" effect, is more useful with gods who need mobility or their movesets to survive.

For example, Chang'e might use this in desperate situations to heal herself in time or to escape with her dancing. But for the most part, it is a personal choice.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I would say Beads are better in the end really. Although Aegis protects you from all damage, you're also missing out on all heals for that time as well. It also makes you unable to move for 2 seconds, which is a lot when in the middle of a team fight; letting the opponents either being able to focus down another enemy without you being able to do anything about it or to position themselves to make you a easy target once the effect wears off.

Beads also lowers all your abilities by 5 seconds upon activate, making it a better item for pretty much any god. Tanks will have their CC up sooner, Assassins will be able to put out more damage, most Carries will have their leap/escape ready sooner, Supports will be able to heal more in the early team fights where the damage is as its highest. It also has 30 seconds less coldown, making it a far better active to protect yourself from ultimates in serious games where people knows about the 120 seconds on Aegis and uses that to their advantage.

Also you should not fear the damage of a Ares or Hades ultimate more than what their whole team could be doing with the right positions, especially when against Ares as it just makes you an easy target for his shackles, making you an easy target to pick off.

Well Aegis Amuletmay ignore the damage but you are not mobile and enemies will have enough time to position themselves and kill you .

Or if you hit Aegis Amulet during Hades' ultimate , you might not take damage when people are throwing ultimates on you, but when Aegis' effect ends you will find yourself vulnerable against 4/5 well positioned enemies ready to kill you . Purification Beads will get you out of Hades' ultimate and other possible stuns/slows while taking some damage .

It may be useful against Agni's ultimate or Anubis' ultimate but I find it not that useful in team fights when there is more than one threat .

Well. Agis is actually a nice way to buy sometime if you have an escape skill on 2 seconds colddown as your being ganked. While beads is good to get pass cc and kil;=l someone who your chasing.

Well I was playing more tanks lately and got another question: For tanks (vs Neith/Ares early game) mid game and late game I think Aegis i better. You can dodge hard abilities like Ymir Ult, Athena Ult, Pulls, Neith Ult etc and get some abilities of the enemie and you don't need THAT much of mobility because you take low dmg (especiually late game).

TL;DR: Is Aegis better on TANKS mid/late game?

No. Barely any tanks use Aegis. Why? Because your a tank. You can take AND handle damage real well. Heck. At lvl 10. If a neith tries to ulti you and your at the red. If you just have 4 items that ulti even at full charge can't kill you. Depends though if that neith if well equpied and fed. But still not much tanks use Aegis.

Aegies is mostly useful on a squishy. If used right on a chase. If your teammates are trying to get to you but the enemy team are on your back you can Aegis the big damage long enough to survive till your teammates arrive for the counter gank. If you don't have it then you would just die and miss the xp/gold when your teammates counter back.
