Just decided to play Smite on a whim since what I seen in streams seem very interesting.

Anyway, is there any starters guides out there? I have tried digging around but can't seem to find anything. Also, if it helps, I played both DotA and LoL. Also, any good starter gods (is that what they're called?) that I can learn?

Thanks.

Hi Yasutsuna, welcome to SMITE.

In my opinion, the best guide to start up is this one :
Firraria's Complete beginners guide to smite

This guide also includes links to other guides on specific subjects.

There are also guides for specific game modes, such as :

Conquest
Pentargonite's Beginners guide to the roles and Etiquette of SMITE Conquest

Arena
TormentedTurnip's Pffft minions, A general guide to Arena match

Assault
Branmuffin17's Overarching Assault guide

Going to agree with Bullfrog323 that those are the best starter guides.

Best gods to start with depend on what roles you want to play. Some easy supports are Athena and Geb, easy ADCs include Neith and Anhur, easy junglers include Fenrir and Thor, easy mid laners include Ra and Kukulkan, and easy solo laners include Chaac and Chang'e. This isn't to say that there aren't other easy gods or that these gods are easy for everyone (I took far too long learning Thor) but in general they're considered to be pretty basic and easy to understand how to play.

the game is more like LoL when you play CQ. The beginner gods are the gods you get for free (I would change the Guan Yu though the other are fine)

IMO, the easiest gods to start with are Thor in the jungle, Neith or Apollo as ADC (although Apollo kinda sucks rn), Kukulkan, Ra, or Poseidon in mid, Chaac or Guan Yu in solo (Zilby, I disagree that Chang'e is beginner-friendly, considering the intricacies of her dances and the reflex time you need on her 2), and Ymir in support. Note that I recommended all 5 of the non-rotating free gods - if you can't or won't spend the $30 on all of the gods, sticking with the free gods is a good strategy, mastering the constantly free characters while trying out the weekly free gods to broaden your sights. Smite's gods are all very unique and, apart from the ones Zilby and I listed, have increasingly high skill caps. While some of the above gods are currently good, other top tier gods, like Serqet or Sylvanus are very hard to play, so work your way up to those.

The beginner guides listed are awesome, and I highly recommend them. My only other advice is to test out gods in arena before you play conquest :/ even in casual conquest, chat can be somewhat flamey towards new players at times. Call your roles, play your best, and you'll be fine. Welcome to the community!

The OP asked for a starting guide, thats why I proposed these guides.

But you guys are right, as he should also consider not only the mode he wants to learn, but also the role he wants to play.

Then, I tried to find role specific guides, regardless of the god pick, and I didn't find many.
I found these :

Jungler
Subzero008's Junglers Handbook

Support
MysticBasdger's Almost in depth guide to the Support role

Do you know if there is a guide for the 3 other roles (ADC, Mid and Solo) ?

Generally people don't make guides for mid, solo and adc since they're easier to learn than jungle and support.

this person is an advanced moba player so he knows the basics so he can start of in conquest though ( depending on skill shotting)

It's like Zilby said adc solo and mid are mostly: farm (especially mid and solo). even the most outdated guides (I believe their is a mid and solo guide both of them being from beta times) can learn you the role.

I don't play a lot of conquest but from what I have played adc, mid, and solo are all simpler roles, especially adc and solo, which is just to outdo the enemies adc/solo, mids a bit more complicated because of the need to ward, grab mid furies, and be ready to call MIA's and rotate at any moment, but its still easy to learn, I'd say the order you should learn the roles is jungle(probably one of the most important roles for getting in to the lead), support(can make or break a team comp and save lives if played properly), mid(learning ward locations, when mid furies come up, and to know the best times to rotate), solo(this is more to counter build then anything, other than that its just a sit in lane and wait till late game simulator), adc(this normally stays the same in terms of build, gameplay, and strategy, your support should handle warding, I'd say just learn the standard gameplay of other adcs, and learn how to counter, exp. Anhur's pillar spear combo sets him up for more damage on his ult, so buy beads and keep an eye on him).

sorry that was so long, like I said, I don't play conquest much but this is what I've learned from videos, streams, and my older days of conquest.

also I'd say Poseidon, Kukulkan, Ra, and Scylla are the easiest mids, Ymir, Athena, and Geb in terms of supports, Apollo, Neith, and Artemis for ADC, Herc and Chaac for solo, and Thor, Bastet, and Hun Batz for jungle IMO.
