Hey guys, I know this is old but I think I can add something to this post for people that are possibly subscribed to the post or random visitors who searched "why no jesus in smite" on Google.

A character like Jesus would work as a support if you only made him "Jesus", but the thing is that he's also described as "the Holy Spirit" Yahweh: the creator and destroyer of EVERYTHING. He'd be an incomplete character if he wasn't unbeatable, he'd be like Udyr from LoL with only his Turtle Stance.

Abrahamic religions and Islam are monotheistic, their gods can't be accurately envisioned as a character and therefore doesn't fit into the game. When it comes to Buddhism I think the only special ability he had was "sitting still and not thinking about anything" or "being dead".

Like all religions, Hindus think they're special and that their doctrine is "the Truth" (with a capital T and all). The big difference between them and other major religions is that their deities are re-creatable characters.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
