Who are some of the best gods to 1v1 with? I'm trying to get up the nerve to try 1v1 joust and it piqued my curiosity.

Gods that in my opinion have high Joust 1v1 potential are following: Agni, Anhur, Anubis, Aphrodite, Chang'e, Chronos, Freya, He Bo, Hel, Loki, Neith, Vulcan and maybe Poseidon.

I would suggest Vulcan, as he's pretty much invincible once he gets some items, and he's just a beast against any melee gods. The rest are also very good, but just not as safe.

High 1v1 potential:
Top Tier:
Freya (Late game a banish is an instant kill)
Chronos (Dueling Mage)
Mercury (He runs circles around people atm)
Zeus (Counter to Chronos, Dueling Mage)
Anubis (Coccoon GG)
Loki (Anyone not tank is dead)
Fenrir (Dueling Bruiser)
Neith (Safest person in game)
Poseidon (Kraken GG)

Others:
Vulcan (Push 2 win)
Ares (Stack one protection and let your base damages do the work)
Thor (See bruiser version of Ares)
Agni (Not as extreme burst but it's always on demand)
Artemis (If you survive to 5+ items you win)
Chang'E (Polynomicon GG. Heals Aegis and Waveclear Galore)
He Bo (See Magical Artemis)
Anhur (Beats any physical with passive, loses to most magical)

Athena . Built full mage or magic bruiser and the game is all yours . + Polynomicon as starter/2nd item and you may end up with an early kill and let the enemy amazed because he expected to face a tank . Very useful to use the phoenix/towers as "5th ability" by using Confound.

Freya . 4+ items and the enemy will stand no chance , no matter the enemy .

Chang'e . Heal minions and let the enemy rage as he just wasted two abilities trying to kill them . Never tried Chang'e with Polynomicon

Anubis . Excellent minion killer abilities and in case the enemy is brave enough to get close to you, just Mummify-to-Win .

Loki needless to say why I guess .

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods.
