Hello everyone!

I'm currently studying marketing at a university and I've been asked to do a market research questionnaire for class. Seeing as how I love Smite and find the community fun to be around, I thought it'd be great to put the two together.

Player harassment is far reaching however across all online multiplayer games and I wondered how people felt they were targeted by toxic players. This survey is all about understanding the player with their prior experiences in the game and who's being picked on. Sure, people can try to ignore toxic behavior, but I believe it's important to try and understand who feels they're being harassed more.

Also, if you have any friends or family that also play the game and wouldn't mind helping me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Everyone's opinion counts.

So if you're interested in filling out the questionnaire, please click here. As simple as the survey is, your honesty is valued. If I do receive a lot of interest in the project, I'll be happy to post a follow-up once my final project has been concluded at the end of the quarter.

Unfortunately, SurveyMonkey will only allow for 100 respondents and we have reached the cap. I had to close off the survey since I cannot receive more respondents. Thank you to those that have responded and those that have also given wonderful feedback.

The project will be finished by Tuesday, March 12 and I'll be posting up my findings before the end of March. I'll try my best to message everyone who's left a message here and has participated back with a follow-up!

Here's also the Reddit thread which includes a bit of discussion and may provide more insight on my thoughts of the project if you're interested!

Just finished it. Good luck with your project. I'd be interested to hear more about the results once you're finished. :)

Thanks Firraria! =] I'm gathering quite a few responses so far so it seems like I'll definitely be posting the results once they're done.

Filled it. Good luck with the project! Looking forward to hear the results.

After you're done, perhaps you can ask Hi-Rez to take a look at it?

Filled it as well. I wonder how common sexual and racial harassment are... I've never experienced any of it in any of my games before :/

However, it's also true that I don't use voice communication.

I am the most foul, cruel and bad tempered rodent you've ever set eyes upon!.. Oh, her? Yes, well... she's with me.

Feel free to PM me with any questions or comments. I can offer feedback on gameplay and BBcoding tips, as well as moderation help if needed.

I experience the the sexual and inability mostly together or only sexual because just wtf.

Also note that for me the harassment in the last 7 days was just none as I haven't played smite at least 5 days of the last 7 days)

Thanks FerrumSlash! I'm approaching the cap of respondents I can have on a SurveyMonkey questionnaire so I'll be able to start work on it soon. I can't wait to produce the results because I think everyone's responses will provide wonderful insight on the matter.

I'm not sure who to send the finished project to, but I'll definitely look into sending it to Hi-Rez when the time comes! Good idea. =]

Thanks Zilby!

This is precisely why I wanted to do the research actually. Everyone has their own unique experiences in Smite and they can vary greatly. I think it's important to gather these responses to try and generate a larger picture because even though you and I might not receive sexist remarks or get made fun of for a foreign username/inability to speak English, but others might.

And yeah, I feel that using voice communication could drastically alter our experiences. I remember playing male characters in World of Warcraft frequently and I went on Ventrilo for a pick-up raid on my realm once. The number of people who went "Oh my god, it's a girl?" or "What? You play a male character but you're a female?" went from 0 to...a lot that day. But that's incredibly tame and might be the more common response some females can get.
