I've noticed this on other forum sites, and I think this would be an amazing change to the Fire sites.

Basically, posts can be "liked." It's kind of like the rep system, only you can specify what post earned that rep, and how.

As an example:

Say someone writes a god analysis on a thread about a god release.

There are four categories in this example: Informative, Insighful, Funny, Hugs, and Like.

Instead of pounding the rep button, you could click Insightful. For the OP, you could write informative. For the forum clowns, you can click Funny. Or if you can't decide on one, you could just click "like" or "hugs."

The Alert system is a part of that.

Basically, it informs a user if they got a message, were quoted in a post, or got "liked," or "rep'd" or whatever.

I don't see why not; other forums use that type of system (albeit for alerts on forum replies and such, do we have one? I'm new here ^^;), so it'd make sense.
