Yes, cleanse needs to either be applied preemptively or immediately after the CC is applied in order to be effective. I have a section devoted towards cleansing in my Hel guide if you want to check it out, but the situations may vary depending on the game mode, and mine is focused on Arena.

Anyhow, maybe a passive that increases her MP by x for each spell cast, lasting y seconds and stacking up to z times?

I know. I have read that at least a million times. I still fail miserably. I either use it and no one tries to cc. Or I am in the wrong stance in the wrong time.

Lol. Don't worry I still mess up too :D

Actually lately I've just been focusing on killing enemies instead of helping out teammates, lol.

I have an IRL friend that I recruited to this game. We are great friends. However he thinks he is the Smite master... He insists that I am terrible with Hel, because I don't get the most kills or do the most damage and doesn't care at all about any undocumented support like cleanse that I do during the game. However when I try to just kill enemies. I end up either just feeding or stealing kills. Unless it's a squishy character and I just nuke>beads>nuke>kill. Then I don't typically do super well. I however LOVE Hel, because of her difficulty and love the challenge.
