I can say that it is extremely difficult to counter this guy. Why?

Instant Stun with a Huge Radius of Effect.

Counter-strategies that Don't Really Work

Beads works somewhat, but his ult stun combo recharges in 20 seconds.

Aegis is near-worthless with his unique ultimate mechanics. It's not like avoiding the Kraken, where you are rewarded with drastically affecting an enemy's damage output. He'll just wait and hit you again.

The sheer amount of damage he can drop down in a short period of time, combined with his stun, make building just one defense item nonviable, and two items kinda cripples the damage output of most gods. We're talking about a base damage of 1005 (+180% of your magical power).

Dodging it is impossible. I don't think that even Mercury with as much movement speed as possible + Sprint can avoid being hit by the effective radius of Rain Fire + Noxious Fumes. That's not hyperbole, that's just how huge the effective area is.

Weather the storm before attacking assumes that you survive it in the first place, and that Agni has already spent his dash, and that he hasn't bought cooldown items to make his dash have a cooldown of 9 seconds, or his fumes 7.2 seconds. And why wouldn't he, with his ability to instantly stun people? And uh, he had to have the best dash in the game. CC immunity, fastest speed, and I think the longest length. (ladies...)

Counter-strategies that Work?

Magi's Blessing?

...nothing else I can think of. Not to mention that this is less-than-effective when the most common tanks you see are Athena (hard CC as an ability), Bacchus (hard CC as an ability), Sobek (hard CC as an ability), or Ymir (hard CC as an ability). It takes only a few moments for the enemy Agni to ask the tank to "Target the dude with Magi's Blessing first, then I'll metaphorically shove a cactus up his ***."

Final Thoughts

Cheese. Agni is pure cheese. Sour, stinking, moldy cheese.
