Hey look, it's that time of the week for the regular Loki thread.

This is a thought experiment, kinda like the devil's advocate.

Strengths

- High single-target damage
- Good mobility
- Can temporarily negate towers
- Teleport ult
- Good farming with Decoy
- High burst damage

Weaknesses

Magi's Blessing

- Squishy melee with little CC
- Limited use in teamfights besides janitorial duty
- Easily focused on
- Most builds are lacking penetration
- Mobility skills need to be used to attack
- Attacks are risky

Massive Thought Vomit Ahead

His ultimate does not do a lot of damage, therefore, there is little need to avoid it, specifically, but the stun is troublesome. Buying beads simply to turn around mitigates 20% of his damage.

Magi's Blessing removes the fear from his ultimate completely and is cheap.

It is also fairly difficult to see him coming but it is easy to know when he is coming. His strength is in attacking the back of an enemy, therefore, protecting it by moving it or blocking access to it can be effective.

Attacking requires his to expend one of his escapes, his ultimate or his Vanish. If you can survive the initial burst and force him to use Vanish to finish you off, he has no more mobility than anyone else and can be easily avoided or killed, provided you survive.

If he uses vanish to escape, it is near impossible to find him, however, he has lost his ultimate. At least 54 seconds of safety.

If he attacks with Vanish + Aimed Strike, wearing a headset will allow you to determine direct as well as time. If you can survive his initial murder attempt, he will be exposed and in danger, with no way to avoid damage short of using his ultimate to stun the attacker. Even if you are at lower health, you should have the advantage with most of his damage gone.

If he decides to use his ultimate as an escape, that's one ultimate down for at least 54 seconds.

If he uses it to finish you off, and you survive, that Loki should be dead unless a teammate is covering him.

The trick to these seem to be surviving his attacks.

Low-pen build: A single voidblade or breastplate of valor should easily remove most of his damage. Survive to react usually means you win.

Build with executioner: His initial attack is not going to do much damage, even with the executioner as long as you build some defense. His next basic attacks which might crit will be troublesome. The problem is the vulnerable period where your defenses are shredded and he is still at full health, albeit without his one of his escapes. It is possible that he can still kill you during this time, but it would be taking a massive risk. I am at a loss what to do here. I'd say use your escape, but that's not always an option.

Possible actives: I can't think of a reason to invest 900 gold while being unable to avoid the stun, and being unable to use it for the possible 36 seconds where he can still use his ult and the active is unavailable.

Is Loki counterable...yes? Somewhat?

Man loki is still the CHEAPEST god ever made in smite history still.

I am not calling him OP, I am not calling him STRONG, I am not calling him GOOD.

What I am saying though, is he is a CHEAP GOD TO PICK.

Meaning I have no respect when I see a LOKI go 22-1 because to me LOKI is a cheap god to play.
He is one of those gods where I think wow your so good because you can play a cheap *** cheat god that can disappear or steal all your team mates kills.

Thats all I have to say though.

but I will say that his VANISH is pretty damn cheap and even for a game its cheap.

If TURNING INVISIBLE isn't the most cheapest thing a god can do in a video game...

then I don't know what is!

I don't have a problem with him, but everytime I get killed by a ks loki I don't credit him with nothing because he can vanish like a cheapo

One more thing, loki is not hard to face... well maybe unless your solo with a certain god pick but most of the time you can poop on him but I just wanted to say
INVISIBLE = CHEAP no matter how you put it
