The first build before leaving base for lane.
The multipot is recommended for the double-proc of healing with the chalice. Great for early engagings.
Multipots recommended are not more that 4 but not less than 2. Up to you.
This build plays around the damage and bluestone proct of Achille's 1.
For that reason, leveling up the 1 to keep up with the damage and the wave clear is very important. The faster you clear, the faster you can box.
For that reason I recommend pushing for Achille's 2 second. After level 8 poping 2 and hitting the full wave with the 1 should full clear without a problem and in a single ability.
Achille's 3 is an amazing ability than opens alot of oportunities for outplays and kills, but I think that having 1 level is enough for the laning phase as your main damage tool should be his 1 boosted with the 2, only using the 3 for poking damage and for movement corrections and chases in lane. Use the 3 when you are sure you hit the enemy god to keep up with them or to escape a tough spot. Use it to engange or escape, not as a damage tool.
The ult is pretty straight foward. Ult if they are low health and you know they wasted their movement ability (if they have one). Don't be scared of ulting just to escape, as the ult gives CCR immunity and goes through minions. Always remember than escaping is better that saving ult.

If you can back for full boots AND round shield/enchanted buckler you're doing great, keep it up.
If you can't return with both, just finish the tabis and wait for your power spike.
Round shield: If facing a physical god
Enchanted buckler: If facing a magical god
This is your moment to shine. The great early-mid game power spike.
Once you have your first bruiser item (Void shield if facing a physical, Ancile if facing a magical) just go for the fight as fast as you can as long as you are not behind 3-4 levels of the enemy solo laner.
Be confident, with this build and power spike Achilles SLAPS. Be wary of any ganks before engaging and just go for it.
If you are having a good laning phase and pushing the enemy solo laner back focus on farming and buying glad shield. Glad shield passive is insane and it works great with Void and Bluestone.
If you are having a bad time laning better prepare for a tough late game, so build into sledge for the extra life, protection and CCR.
Remember, if you are kicking butts go Glad Shield. If you are having your butt kicked go Sledge.
This is the time you are going to start facing the midlaner much more frecuenly. Better prepare for that.
In my honest opinion, Talisman of Energy is the best MP item for Achilles. That boost of speed is great for engaging and keeping them close to hit your 1 and keep hitting your 3s. Even better, it can be the difference between a great ult combo and an execute than never reachs.
But going talisman is a bit of a gamble. So if you are not feeling confident just play it safe. Both Pestilence (if the enemy have a dedicated healer) or Genjis (for almost any matchup really) are great. You can't go wrong.
Time to finish the build. For that, I have 3 recomendations.
Arondight: Great synergy with your ult. The extra movement speed after ulting can create amazing oportunities to chain execute after execute and the big power boost is VERY noticiable, especially if facing squishy targets. Plus the 10% CDR is great. Go for the Aron if you are hitting your ults.
Hearthseeker: Great item for the bonus dmg and penetration. The passive works very well with Bluestone. You can't go wrong with Hearthseeker, just be mindful of the fact that you are not full tank, but a bruiser.
Pridwen: If the match is goind poorly but you manage to reach late game just go Pridwen. The CDR and both protections are going to be great just to survive a little longer. The little passive shield could clutch you out of a nasty situation.
Time to finish your starter. Both options are great but in different circustances.
Corrupted: My go-to most of the time. The best bluestone for diving squishies in the backline. The attack speed debuff is insane when facing an ADC and the buff in attack speed works great for pressuring any backline the enemy can have. Remember to use the wide hit of your shield to proct the debuff in the ADC and if you can, also the midlaner.
Brooch: The safer option. If diving is not going great or if you are feeling like your backline needs more peeling from the enemy tanks, go Bluestone Brooch. You are sacrificing some damage for very useful HPS and a great passive for facing tanks.
If you manage to reach this point of the game, congratulations! You are playing a good game of smite.
So at this point, I recommend just focusing on a defensive item to try to outlive the big damage numbers of lategame ADC and mages.
Mantle: The good old mantle, you cant never go wrong with it. Amazing stats, amazing passive and even an AOE stun great for diving. Amazing lategame item, recommend in almost any case.
Spirit: The perfect item when "Please let me move" if a phrase than keeps poping in your head. Great item to face CC heavy gods. Go for it if diving is getting hard because of the enemy peeling.
Midgardian: Amazing item that goes great with Corrupted Bluestone. This is the item i recommend if the enemy ADC is playing particullary well. The extra health and protection goes great with the passive. If you manage to get in the face of the enemy ADC with Corrupted Bluestone and Midgardian he's done.
This is the best build for diving a backline. The Void debuff, the Glad extra damage and the Aron and Talisman MS are amazing for a fast delete of a squishy. You are also tanky enough to survive a few focus abilites.
Pros: Great damage, full CDR (With 500 red pot), very fast.
Cons: Not as tanky, no CCR so be careful with stuns
This is a very solid and overall safe build. You are tanky enough to face the enemy damage dealers, and also do enough damage to dive if you see someone in low health for an execute. It's a jack of all trades, master of none type of build
Pros: Good defense and health, good HPS and MPS, solid CDR (30% with 500 red pot), solid CCR (20% with sledge)
Cons: Not much damage or MS.
Similar to the build after a solid early facing a physical. The difference between Void and Ancile is very noticeble but the passive is still great for diving. Try to avoid getting hit before diving to save the passive for the enemy backline. If you are poked and your Ancile procts just wait for the passive to come back. Not worth diving without it.
Pros: Great damage, great MS, full CDR (with 500 redpot), Ancile passive is always nice.
Cons: Similar to the other build. Not very tanky and no CCR. Be careful with stuns and roots.
Achilles' passive lets him chose between 2 types of buffs. An armor stance, that gives him extra protections and health, and a power stance, that gives him extra power and movement speed.
To switch between the stances, just press the basic attack buttom while in your fointain.
There are a few ways to use this passive.
One is focusing on early damage with the power stance and using the Warrior tabi power spike to switch to the armor stance for a safer lane phase. This is the safe option to play Achilles
The other one is playing with the power stance until your 3rd item (Void shield/Ancile) and then switching to armor stance. This is a little more risky but it can open the possibilities of an early kill in laning phase with the extra power of Boots + Power stance. This is the risky but rewarding approach, if you go with this plan play for kills.
The last one is the YOLO one. If you feel that the enemy solo laner is not very good and you consistenly hit every ability while avoiding theirs, just play with the power stance until your 5th item or before leaving lane. The power of your passive is pretty significant with Voidshield and Bluestone. Remember to switch to armor stance after leaving lane.
For the first levels (1 to 3-4) clear wave as fast as you can with the 1. Remember to activate your 2 anytime you go for the game for the healing and power increase. Try to poke the enemy solo laner with your 3. Move in and out of your and their wave using the dashes. If you miss your 3 DON'T ENGANGE. Wait for it to come back and only engange when you are sure you can dash an ability away.
Once you hit level 5, the duel begins. Activate your 2 and aim to hit the stun, even better if you interrupt the enemy sololaner clear. Hit all the basic attacks you can, if they are trying to get away hit your 3 fast and keep up. Keep hitting every basic attack possible. Your kill potencial is very big if you manage to hit the stun and a few basics. After the stun ends dash towards their tower to cut an escape route and keep hitting basic attacks. Press right click to cancel your 3 after hitting the first one and to keep hitting basics. If hes trying to escape press 3 again and hit him with the 2nd charge of your spear and dash into him to close the distance. At this point your 2 and 1 should be up again. Press 2 and then hit the stun. If you done everything correctly, the enemy solo laner should be stunned and in the execute threshold.
Remember to use your 3 to close distances. Try to dash to the sides so anything aimed to you doesn't hit your gave and viceversa. As long as you hit the stun in the 1 and boost your abilities and your basics with your 2 you should outtrade almost anyone.
The duelist playstyle revolves around going all-in after level 5. Using the mobility and cancelling your 2nd strike in your 3 to save it for re-engange in case of the enemy trying to escape. Your damage comes from your 2 boosting everything else, so play around than ability.
Ward the enemy jungle. Play around their back harpies and try to secure blue any time you can. Farm everything, once you hit level 8 you should 1shot the wave and the harpies. Maybe leaving the big minion 1 basic away.
Once you hit level 10-11 you should start rotating mid or pushing jungle objectives (stealing blue or speed, pyro, ganking the midlaner). Try to be proactive. You farm fast, take advantage of that.
Try to make tower fall in the 15 minute mark, to avoid the enemy solo laner to farm to safelly close to their tier 2 tower. Buy sentry wards and use them close to the big harpies that the jungler always takes. Destroy any ward close to the enemy speed. That opens the possibility for ganks to both the midlaner and the solo laner from the enemy jungle.
If you can make the jungle yours and keep up with the farm you are doing an amazing job, keep it up.
If you are playing from behind after a bad early, don't fret. Farm safe, let the enemy take your tower if you have to so you can farm under T2. Don't panic and remember that as long as you have your 2 you can outbox almost everything thats not too far away in levels. Don't be scared of using your ult to escape if you have to. Try to take any camp you can, even more if your jungler is focusing the duo lane. Don't take speed tho, thats not a cool move.
Time to go in. Try to play any teamfight from the sides of your team, even using the jungle if you want, to surprise the enemy backline.
Diving as Achilles is not easy, you need to be very wary of the enemy CC. Pay attention of any movement and usage of abilities. Try to hit your stun as fast as you can and DIVE WITH YOUR 2 ACTIVE. NEVER GO IN WHEN YOUR 2 IS ON CD.
Hit your stun, dash anything away with your 3 and hit as much basic attacks as you can. Try to save your 2nd charge of your 3 to repositioning yourself in case you get hit by some CC. If your 2 goes down and you are still fighting try to dash away with your 2nd charge of your 3. Remember that you can cancel your 2nd charge by pressing right click and activate it again by pressing 3 again. Your second charge lasts 3 more seconds before going on cooldown, so be mindful of that.
If you manage to hit your abilities and your team can follow up be prepared to ult. Don't be scared to ult even if someone is outside the execute threshold as they might get hit by something that puts them inside the execute range or maybe your ult damage hits hard enough to leave them at 1hp and you can finish them off with a 1 or a 3.
And this is it. A bruiser build focused around early fights and constant ability rotation.
I hope this is helpful for people looking for a good guide in Achilles. This is how I play him and I have alot of fun with it. Hope you do too.
Thanks for reaching the end of my first guide. Have a good day and most importantly have fun.
