Hey everyone! My name's FruityPop69, but my ign is Nomadkiler. I used to play a lot of Xbox Smite, but have switched over to PC for various reasons. Coming into S5, I didn't know what I wanted to play. Queuing up with people, most of the time, they would all auto lock roles other than support. I used to hate playing support, until I started playing with some buddies who would encourage me to play a warrior support. Warrior is a lot more fun in the support role imo. Ama is one of my favorite gods to play in this role now, and I don't mind picking up support anymore! I'm still testing out a lot of builds with her, so bear with me. This is also my first guide ever on Smitefire, so any constructive criticism is appreciated!
I like to start Ama how most supports should be built right now. Guardian's Blessing, glowing emerald, 2 multi pots, and 2 mana pots. I don't pick up straight health pots because of her self heal which can be accessed at lvl 2. At first back, finish Gauntlet of Thebes and try to start boots. I prefer Warrior Tabi over Talaria or Greaves because Ama has a decent amount of damage built into her kit, and the extra power+mirror combo can really help secure a kill, especially in the early game. After i get boots, it's very situational. I prefer to do an aura build because Ama already has built in aura, so people should be grouping up with you in team fights to begin with. I typically go into sov and heartward after boots and thebes because of the auras of course. If you don't enjoy auras, I would suggest going a Nemean possibly if you're going against someone like Apollo or Anhur. Again, building Ama late game is completely situational. Try to keep track of what the enemy is building and counter it if you can.
The leveling for Ama's abilities are 2->1->3->4. Her mirror is her best clear and should be maxed first. I prefer to max her 1 next, as the HoT and auras help in lane, especially if an early fight happens. Only pick her 3 up second if you get caught out and find yourself in a sticky situation. Her 4 should be maxed ASAP, every point you can put in, you should. The extra damage she gains from her ult can turn the tide of a battle, with it dealing 270 base damage at level 5 with all three hits of her ult can help, and hitting for 990 at level 20 is insane damage even for a support!
As Ama, you have a decent engage with her 3 which is also a silence. Be careful using her 3 as an escape, because if you hit a god, it'll stop the dash. During a team fight, try to hit their support or solo laner with at least 3 autos to apply her debuff aura for you team. 10% extra damage in a team fight can really tip the scales. When you engage, make sure you've got your stance in the power aura, at max level, it provides 35 extra power. Let your carry do the carrying with this. I don't like to engage with an ultimate, instead, I like to hold it until mid fight, as I know they'll be grouped up even more then and hitting 3+ gods with all 3 of your swings is an amazing feeling. You can also hold it and use it if the fight goes bad, allowing your teammates to retreat and stay alive.
IDK how to do all of the coding and whatnot and I don't expect this guide to be huge, but I just thought I'd give my insight on Ama if anyone was wanting to play her. Any tips you have on playing Ama in support role is also appreciated! Thanks everyone!
