Items

!My very first guide!
This build is intended for both lane fights and arena mode.

Playing Anubis early on must be very careful. Even trough entire game Anubis is very fragile and there is no point investing into his defense too much. Instead, focusing on offence will greatly contribute. Problem is, early on Anubis depends a lot on the items, later, he can be fear for any player. That is why I believe this is good guide for new players with Anubis.

Warlock's Sash is good item yet require a bit passive play early on and recommend it only if Anubis is on mid. Since item is a bit expensive, I drop from standard build and buy rank 1 Warlock's sash it gives 10 less magic power yet same Health amount and 100 Mana. It might be difficult for this but I think it is better option.

I prefer 15% CDR as Anubis with it can push enemy real hard. A bit faster usage of and is something every Anubis player want.

is Ideal lifesteal item for Anubis as Anubis tend to loose health easily so his power will increase a lot. With his new passive rework this is so powerful item on Anubis. Yet depending on situation, you might want to finish Bancroft's Talon before Gem of Isolation yet in most cases it is OK to buy Rank 1 of this item and finish Gem first.

is almost must have for Anubis due to it's rank 3 slow that comes very beneficial with Anubis Ultimate ability . Also it gives more health and increase more mana pool. It will also helps to avoid many nasty situations due to increased health.

offers magical power, magical protection and on rank 3 aura that reduce magical protection of all enemies. I recommend this item as usually enemies tend to come close to Anubis due to his super fragile status. Also 55 feet ingame is really nice range.

on rank 3 increases magic power by 25% - must have (probably for every mage god)

Combat

WARNING! All Anubis abilities will root him entire time he is casting them! This can be very perilous so use them with caution!

Standard Anubis combo: > > >

some players maximize this ability first over . This is good especially in mid lane as with it you can zone enemy player and since this is cone you can let enemy minions come to yours then stand a side use this ability to kill all minions at once - your cone can cover all enemy minions while they try to kill your minions. This is very good to fill stacks on Warlock's Sash. Downside is that Anubis is rooted while channeling this ability and enemy player can even kill you. Because of it, some players maximize skill 3. For new players, I still recommend to maximize this skill as second until you are comfortable with Anubis.

can help in many situation to interrupt enemy and give them final blow or to simply run away. Now this ability is something that makes playing Anubis a bit confusing as this is the only skill based ability. In order to maximize success of hitting enemy cast first as this ability slows enemies. Slow is increased once you maximize on rank 3.

Avoid using on free roaming enemy - not beneficial to waste such powerful ability unless for some reason you wish enemy to flee. can make havoc if gazing at grouped enemies while fighting another team player. Use first and often on enemy. Many players tend to panic because of it, but usually get annoyed by it. Make sure you follow combo.

it will make high damage on enemy and slow them so it will be easier to hit them with and ensure they stay in for full duration. There are at least 2 reasons why next attack should be :
1) most enemies expect and will pop their Aegis making you waste your ultimate ability. If this happen, has by far shorter cooldown.
2) deals most damage of all 3 abilities (except ultimate) and usually ends too soon so enemy is free to roam. As enemy moves Anubis is able to rotate and follow enemy as enemy usually want to get behind Anubis.

After this it depends, but if enemy is not dead, he probably wasted his Aegis and if not, he is on low health ready for to finish him.
