So this is my first guide, and with my play style it works pretty well. I may add that Anubis is meant to be played as a opportunity god, don't go in as the tank and don't jump in just because. Wait for the right moment as you will be targeted first. However with all things considered this build seems to pump out very good damage in the most recent patch as well it gives you considerable survival with drain tanking (WOW reference) think Warlock. And with that I'll explain this mess of a build.
As the build says drain to sustain. Get the typical mage starting item with a focus towards building your book. Its very important that you start building stacks asap. Thankfully you have incredible range and wave clear...use it. Stay safe in early game play (distance) but don't forget your best ability early on is your poke. This build focuses on the ability to drop a grasping hands and then mummify your target in it, land a single melee attack and force them out of lane. As you build up you will notice in boxing matches 2v1 and even 3v1 will become a challenge for the other team.
Drain tanking is based on three things. First, "tanking" is meant for tanks, your no Ymir. However, in a boxing match with most any other god you can nuke them down, and come out with at least 2/3rds hp left over and with a simple locus swarm be ready for another boxing match.
2nd, play safe. The name of the game is to not feed the enemy team, its more valuable to be a level or two behind than to be the same level but feed 4 or 5 deaths to the enemy ADC or APC. Anubis needs about 10 levels in this build to be fully (overwhelmingly) effective. After about level 10 you can consider any 1v1 trade off to be a GG.
3rd. The mix of items is based on the idea that you can interrupt a stun and shield during an enemy ultimate, thus no reason to take most Ults. After surviving that, or better yet simply out tanking it via Grasp, mummy, ult, move on to your next target. The damage is there in this build to eat away tanks, as well as when played safely, 1-2 second god kills on most other gods. (lay down the grasp then mummify then locus is pretty much GG). Basically in the TLDNR version, you're going to have to land some skill shots for this build to be effective guy.
Leave your comments below and by all means put in your suggestions, we are all here looking for ideas on how to play this guy better... Constructive theory crafting is how we all get better, I'm no pro, just seems that this build is effective for my play style.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
