Also, Aphrodite's soul mate gains 50% of her MP5 and 10% of her Physical and Magical Protections.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my Aphrodite support guide. In this guide I'm going to explain how Aphrodite's abilities work, my recommended item build, how she functions depending on the stage of the game, and the pros and cons of using Aphrodite.

Pros / Cons

+Pros:
+Amazing Healer
+Beautiful
+OP ult
+Supports mana hungry gods
+Fun to Play
+Great damage for Support
+Decent CC
+Amazing Late Game

-Con's:
-Squishy for a support
-Terrible Early Game
-No real escape
-Relies heavily on Soulmate
-Hard to get the hang of
-Requires at minimum 30% CDR to become even near effective

Ability Explenation

Aphrodite's abilities are pretty easy to understand, with her 1 connecting to her soulmate, the rest of her abilities not only benefit Aphrodite, but also her soulmate as well. Her soulmate gains 30% of all mana regenerated by Aphrodite, and gains a movement speed buff that is shared to Aphrodite as long as both of you are connected. If Aphrodite uses her 1 on an enemy they are stunned, and if Aphrodite is connected to a soulmate they become jealous gaining a damage increase for a short period of time.

Aphrdoite's passive is called "Center of Attention"; she gains +4 physical and magical protections with each friendly or enemy god that is around her. This caps at +36 protections if 9 gods are within 70 feet of her. You can tell how many protections she has by counting the little red hearts that build up around the big heart at the bottom left. This passive is really useful in team fights because she becomes harder to kill with the more gods she is surrounded by.

Aphrodite's second ability is called "Back Off!" And is used as her "escape" and does a decent amount of damage. Aphrodite slams her wand on the ground and forces all enemies to back off, pushing them 25 units away from her. Her 2 works on her soulmate as well and deals the same damage but instead of pushing them away it slows for 25%. If an enemy is hit by both blasts they would be affected by the one coming from Aphrodite. This ability is great for utility because if you are up against minions and your soulmate is up against other minions, Aphrodite's 2 will damage both sets of minions working for even a better wave clear. This can also be used when your soulmate is trying to chase an enemy and they can't quite catch up; use your 2 to slow the enemy down as long as they are in your soulmates blast radius.

Aphrodite's third ability is called "Love Birds" and is her main damaging and (obviously) healing ability. It is the most useful ability Aphrodite has, and clears minions as well as damages enemies all while healing Aphrodite as well as her soulmate. Her healing becomes more effective with the more magical power you have, which means it is illogical to build defensive items considering it would only harm her healing potential. As a support, this is what makes Aphrodite so different from the rest. She is one of the very few "supports" that must build offensively to become effective and that is why I love her so much.

Aphrodite's ultimate is one of the most OP ultimates in the game and completely ignores crowd control as well as any gank or burst damage such as Scylla's and Loki's Ultimate. Aphrodite pledges undying love to herself and her soulmate! Granting COMPLETE IMMUNITY to any CC and damage for 2 full seconds at max rank. This is what gets aphrodite banned in ranked joust most of the time and makes her such a ridiculously annoying support to encounter. I suggest using this ability whenever you see an enemy ultimate incoming as well as if you, or your partner are in a situation where you think you are going to die.

You should ALWAYS be attached to a partner to achieve full benefit from her kit, and always be aware of what your soulmate is doing because if they die, they will most likely blame you for it. When you are attached to a soulamte, the infamous "Aphrodite combo" you are going to do is use your 1 on an enemy (try to target a squish god like Artemis), then throw out your doves on them (your 3), then finish it up with a "Back Off" right in their face to push them away while your doves eat away at their health, all while healing you and your soulmate. This combo is what makes aphrodite effective towards enemy gods and I suggest you use it whenever you're not clearing minions.

Item Explenation

When it comes to Aphrodite's items, I highly recommend max CDR for constant healing and so you can use your ult as much as possible. Take note the max CDR you can have is 40%, so once you achieve 40% CDR, do not build another item that gives cool down reduction considering it would be a waste of an item which could instead be replaced with a more powerful damaging item to benefit your healing. The items I gave you are all great optionals for Aphrodite, but for now I'm going to be explaining my recommended item build.

The first item I would get is "Shoes of Focus" for the 10% CDR to start as well as 300 mana to aid with Aphrodite's 1 giving her soulmate bonus mp5.

The second item I would be getting is "Warlock's Sash" for the health, mana, and magical power. This item builds stacks, and gives you an amazing amount of magical power to help with heals as well as health to make you more tanky.

The third item I would get is "Chrono's Pendant" for the 20% CDR, 75 magical power and 25 mp5 (which works great for Aphrodite's 1 granting her soulmate bonus mp5).

The fourth item I get is Rod of Asclepius. This item is ALWAYS going to be a must for Aphrodite because it gives her healing a huge kick. It also gives health for more tankiness as well as movement speed to really aid her escapes and chases. This is the most important item in any Aphrodite build, and can heal your soulmate to about 75% health with just one "Love Birds".

The fifth item I would get is "Pythagorem's Piece." I was not sure about this item on Aphrodite at all for a while, but I've come to realize it is very helpful when it comes to maximizing her CDR as well as giving lifesteal. Lifesteal works on her doves and it really helps on keeping Aphrodite alive. With this item you'll notice a difference in Aphrodite's self heal when you throw out doves on an enemy or minions, and when you don't use your doves on an enemy or minions. I mostly get this item to max out Aphrodite's CDR, considering a defense item would be pointless when you're going for a healer build.

The very last item I get is Rod of Tahiti. In any Aphrodite build you must get rod of Tahuti. It gives Aphrodite's damage that extra "oomph" that she needs as well as it greatly increases her healing for late game.

Stages of the Game

In early game, Aphrodite really struggles here and this is where you're going to be like "Aphrodite is useless." Her healing is absolutely mediocre, her damage is just pathetic, and she's just as squishy as Scylla. Really keep your distance here and let your soulmate do ALL the work! Keep assisting on minion clearing with your doves and keep reminding your soulmate to retreat when you notice them playing too aggressive. Stay in the back and place wards so you do not get ganked by the enemy jungler. Remember you do not have an escape so if your soulmate dies, you most likely will as well.

Mid game: This is where Aphrodite picks up in effectiveness and after you have "Warlock's Sash" stacked about halfway and have "Chrono's Pendant" built you and your soulmate can really put in some work. Your minion clear will be almost too easy and your damage as well as your soulmate's will usually be a little over whelming for the enemy. Do not be afraid to start playing aggressive but be cautious over the enemy jungler. Make sure you have some wards down and make sure your middle laner is calling rotations. A gank from the jungler and middle laner all at once will have you and your soulmate dead in no time.

Late game: This is where Aphrodite really shines and can heal the whole team to full health in a matter of 20 seconds. Your stacks should be fully built and you should not only be a bit tanky but you'll also be doing a great amount of damage. Using the "Aphrodite combo" on squish gods you'll nearly fully kill them and any help from your soulmate will really put the enemy team in danger. Whenever you notice an ally dropping health quickly connect to them and heal them back up. With the max CDR this should be no problem and your ult will be saving lives for days.

Last words

Well, this was my Aphrodite guide and if played correctly you will be the deadly healing machine. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this guide, I've spent hours upon hours playing Aphrodite and perfecting my build to really achieve the best amount of healing possible while also being tanky and having max CDR. This is the first guide I have ever made so if you have any comments and/or suggestions please leave them as comment! Thanks again and as Aphrodite would say, "have a beautiful day!"

This is the build I use except I have the Spear of Desolation for the Magical Penetration and end game I heal for nearly 289 per tick. I usually sell the boots after I buy my last item and then I buy the Spear of Desolation, I definitely get the CDR though it is an incredibly useful item. Equal parts Magical Power making your heal more spammable. Great build! I'll definitely try it!
